Corbett & Claude Rhodes

JC dined on Sat, 27th Jul 2019 (8)

Surprisingly good! We thought this place may turn out to be a ‘generic’ eatery but were enticed by the 50% off deal. What we ended up with was good food with none of the dishes being bad. Will be back

Mordeo Bistro & Bar

Sydney CBD

JC dined on Fri, 26th Jul 2019 (9)

The service was terrific and the food was beautifully cooked. My only negative comment is that the food was too salty. The saltiness was consistent across every dish which meant the dishes couldn’t compensate for each other. Would definitely visit again, but will remember to ask for less salt if possible. Friday nights are busy with the post-work crowd drinking up a storm, but the establishment is appropriately sectioned with the bar on one end and the seated area on the other. We had some patrons seated next to us who were quite rowdy, but that’s not the restaurants fault!

Gringos Fresh Mexican Cantina

JC dined on Sun, 21st Jul 2019 (9)

Fabulous local establishment. Friendly service and large portions. It was full of young families when we arrived and with many others picking up take away.

Bondi Pizza Parramatta

JC dined on Tue, 25th Jun 2019 (8)

The team here are wonderful - the service is attentive and the food quality consistent. We were here on a busy night but our came out quickly.

Colors of India

JC dined on Thu, 20th Jun 2019 (9)

Just wonderful! The food was delicious and the service super friendly. We’ve decided this is our new local Indian eatery and we will be back again.

Bondi Pizza Parramatta

JC dined on Mon, 17th Jun 2019 (8)

Food was great - pizzas are thin crust and the calamari crispy.

The Butler Potts Point

Potts Point

JC dined on Sat, 21st Jul 2018 (9)

Great vibe, really tasty food and the wonderful view of the city skyline makes this place a new favourite.

Essenza Italian

Surry Hills

JC dined on Sat, 14th Jul 2018 (7)

It was busy night so a little understandable that we had to try to flag people down, but the team there kept powering through. The food was overall good. There were also a few Uber eats orders coming through too so that’s always an option.

Criniti's Parramatta

JC dined on Mon, 9th Jul 2018 (7)

The overall experience was ok. The food was alright, but on this occasion, the service was too much. Constantly being asked about how the meal was or whether we wanted anything else to eat did distract from the meal.

The Muglan Nepalese & Indian Cuisine

Sydney CBD

JC dined on Sat, 19th Aug 2017 (8)

The food was great- most of our curries were on the mild side (by choice), but were still tasty. The naan here is delicious - crispy in the middle and then doughy closer to the outer edge to soak up the curries.

Subsolo Spanish Restaurant & Bar

Sydney CBD

JC dined on Sat, 22nd Jul 2017 (7)

The atmosphere is great here - it can get a little noisy on a busy night though, as its a basement venue, but the decor is nice and fitting for the restaurant. The food is good, but the drinks and cocktails here is what shines.

Espresso Organica

JC dined on Sat, 15th Jul 2017 (7)

The portions are generous here

Unico Ristorante

Five Dock

JC dined on Sat, 25th Feb 2017 (8)

Food was good - we had pastas as mains - the wild boar fettucini and non-creamy spaghetti carbonara. Very nice.

Sicilian Parramatta

JC dined on Wed, 18th Jan 2017 (7)

We usually enjoy the pizzas here - nice thin base that's slightly crispy and with a little bite. This visit, however, our lamb pizza was a little soggy and limp. Not the usual experience but something for the restaurant to note.

SEADUCTION Restaurant + Bar

Surfers Paradise

JC dined on Sat, 3rd Sep 2016 (8)

We had the set menu for lunch and it was well priced for the location and view. I noticed several tables doing the high tea so I must return to try that!

Criniti's Parramatta

JC dined on Sat, 23rd Jul 2016 (7)

The food was good (loved the sweet potato fries!), but it was a bit noisy, even at lunch time.

JC dined on Sun, 10th Jul 2016 (7)

My first visit back since it was renovated and it's looking very lovely. Ample parking and such a relaxed classy vibe. The food was great - our highlight was actually the freshly baked sourdough that each table gets. The beef cheek pappardelle (made fresh in house) is recommended.

Deckhouse Woolwich

JC dined on Sun, 12th Jun 2016 (8)

Great views and surroundings. The food is straight forward so if you're after something hipster, this is not what you're after

Surry Hills

JC dined on Sun, 22nd May 2016 (7)

Had a great brunch on a Sunday morning. There was a line outside when we arrived but luckily we had booked and were directed to our table straight away. I love it that you can book!

Cafe Morso

JC dined on Sat, 6th Feb 2016 (8)

We had the salt and pepper calamari and the famous truffled scrambled eggs. Both were tasty and coupled with the relaxed atmosphere, made for a great brunch session.

JC dined on Sun, 17th Jan 2016 (8)

Absolutely adore the entrees. They're unique and delicious. The mains, however, aren't as memorable. The brioche is always welcomed!

Deckhouse Woolwich

JC dined on Sun, 17th Jan 2016 (8)

Great place for brunch - relaxed and with a great view.

Sydney CBD

JC dined on Mon, 30th Nov 2015 (8)

We had a lovely night! The sashimi was fresh, the food was beautifully presented and the staff were very friendly and professional.

ARIA Sydney

Circular Quay

JC dined on Tue, 17th Nov 2015 (8)

An iconic restaurant serving beautifully presented and well portioned courses. We opted for 3 courses - after the first 2, we wondered if we would need to order more, but by the end of the third, we were definitely full! The mashed potatoes were divine! We were seated up the front and had a great view of the opera house and the harbour. The staff were highly professional and gave great recommendations.

Mekong Fusion

JC dined on Sun, 15th Nov 2015 (7)

I'd heard about this restaurant through Kiwi friends, so was expecting great things! In reality, it was a nice dining experience, but it didn't stand out as uniquely Kiwi. The food was fresh and well prepared, though. We had the 'trust the chef' set menu accompanied by NZ beers on tap. The only issue we had was a service surcharge of 10% for our 'large' group of 9 (cut off was 8 for this surcharge). I understand that some restaurants do this now, however, we were close to not booking as it was a matter of principle.

The Emporium Parramatta

JC dined on Sun, 15th Nov 2015 (7)

The food was fresh and the staff were friendly. We opted to sit outside on a slightly chilly day and were given blankets incase we got cold. The shoestring fries are addictive and a must!

ARIA Sydney

Circular Quay

JC dined on Sat, 19th Sep 2015 (8)

We came for the pre theatre menu and it is highly recommended. The food is beautifully presented and the staff are very professional. I find Aria consistent in the standard that they deliver.

Blackbird Cafe

Darling Harbour

JC dined on Sun, 30th Aug 2015 (6)

The food was nice, but our pasta was under seasoned (mind you, it's better to be under than over). The lamb salad was very fresh and delicious. Our main issue was the service - the waiter had brought a jug of water, but without any cups and it took 2 more attempts for us to get them. The view was lovely, though, and the outdoor heaters were perfect for a winters night. Overall, though, we would return.

Bar Angolo

JC dined on Wed, 26th Aug 2015 (6)

The food was ok - the pizza was not 'wow' but the Ochiette pasta was delicious. The staff were quite welcoming and hospitable.

JC dined on Thu, 13th Aug 2015 (7)

Complementary Brioche was delicious and very welcomed. The spanner crab starter is highly recommended

Cucina Viscontini

JC dined on Sat, 6th Dec 2014 (8)

Came back for brunch after having a great dinner experience. The breakfast menu has since changed. My friend had the $19.50 big breaky and it was massive! He was a happy man. I, however, had the 17.50 veggie fritter which was rather small (quite thin) and oily. Good thing I opted for an extra side of smoked salmon ($4) because I would otherwise be quite hungry afterwards. I'd still recommend coming here, though.

Cucina Viscontini

JC dined on Wed, 26th Nov 2014 (8)

A really pleasant discovery! This little gem is nestled in the middle of Wentworth point apartments. Right off the bat, our waiter was friendly and attentive and set a relaxed tone. The food was well prepared. We did not have dessert this time around - but did get a few sweets to go. Will be back for brunch!

Himalayan Char Grill Glebe

JC dined on Sat, 20th Sep 2014 (8)

We were a party of 2 on a Saturday night. The staff were lovely and readily made recommendations as it was our first time there. The stand out dish for us was the masala beef cheek. It was so tender and cooked to perfection! The feel of the place was casual and you could tell from those coming in and out that it was a regular for locals. Will definitely be back.

Sushi Tei

Sydney CBD

JC dined on Thu, 14th Aug 2014 (8)

We wanted a light meal and the menu certainly catered for that. The stand out dish (surprisingly) was the deep fried garlic cloves. The garlic wasn't overpowering and rather soft.

Yuki's at the Quay

The Rocks

JC dined on Sat, 15th Dec 2012 (9)

Yukis is a personal favourite for special occassions. The staff are friendly, the view of the opera house is unrivaled and the food is fresh. This also seems to be one of the few places that offers Scampi Sashimi. The price reflects the the location and compared to some of the other restaurants in the vicinity, this restaurant is not hugely overpriced.

JC hasn't selected a top 10 yet.
