Tina dined on Mon, 12th Aug 2019 (6)
We enjoyed the locals do lunch menu and the duck was lovely if a little salty. The lady serving the food was funny and attentive but sadly the rest of the service was hit n miss and really let the place down.

Tina dined on Thu, 1st Aug 2019 (8)
We love this place. A cheeseburger spring roll is a must! We had the crispy perch, duck and pork belly salad. All were super delicious. Will be back.
Tina dined on Fri, 14th Jun 2019 (8)
We love Grolla. It was our favourite local Italian and we will miss them very much. Thanks for all the delicious food and memories.
Tina dined on Thu, 30th May 2019 (6)
We enjoy dining in the french style establishment, and the spatchcock and the steak were both very tasty and well cooked - the wine selection is outstanding here.. however have noticed the price of the steak frites significantly increased since our latest visit. The service was perfunctory, however nothing special as we are used to from Merivale establishments.
Tina dined on Thu, 16th May 2019 (9)
Such a delicious local Italian. We love everything we try. One favourite is the carbonara!
Tina dined on Tue, 14th May 2019 (6)
This was a team night out. We had a good time however it could’ve been great if they had added a few service staff to support the one waitress in the restaurant. She was run off her feet. Food was good including the ribs, an eye fillet, gnocchi and the Parma. Wine selection was also good.
Tina dined on Sun, 24th Mar 2019 (7)
We love the modern fresh update to the decor. The menu is delicious. We enjoyed a flatbread to start and then had porchetta and the pasta. Very enjoyable meal.
Tina dined on Fri, 22nd Mar 2019 (9)
We love coming to Nomad. The new empanada is delicious! The kingfishe ceviche was a stand out and we really enjoyed the beef cheek. Wines are divine too. We highly recommend this place and will be back.
Tina dined on Fri, 1st Mar 2019 (8)
We love Grolla and can highly recommend a visit. Highlights include the pork ribs and the carbonara. We will be back. Thanks Paolo and Lek.
Tina dined on Tue, 26th Feb 2019 (8)
we love Ms G and took our cousins who were visiting from out of town -they rated it as the best dining experience so far in Sydney, and we have tried a few.. another reason it is one of our favourites! Tried the crispy Perch -a big hit, the fried rice was super tasty and the duck pancakes are always yum.. do not forge to have a cheeseburger spring roll!
Tina dined on Sat, 29th Dec 2018 (7)
we enjoyed the pizza, that was shared by the group. The beefs tacos were very tasty and the group enjoyed their meals too.. salad and the pork. A lovely environment which has been tastefully decorated. Good selection of drinks offerings too.
Tina dined on Fri, 21st Dec 2018 (6)
The views of the water are divine we shared pizza pasta and a fabulous Caesar salad service was friendly and attentive.
Tina dined on Tue, 18th Dec 2018 (6)
the view of darling harbour is lovely to enjoy. the lunch period is a very busy one and its rather loud, and service can be a little slow. Food was nice enough, though my thai beef salad was dry.. the pork belly my friend had was better. Might need to try again at dinner.
Tina dined on Thu, 13th Dec 2018 (7)
we had some delicious skewers, both the pork and chicken were delicious! the mussaman beef was very tasty and the crispy noodles with pork and prawn is very yummy and worth trying! its not the cheapest Asian food, but the quality is really very good and the wine list is excellent!
Tina dined on Thu, 6th Dec 2018 (9)
we love Grolla.. Lek and Paolo always make us feel welcome, and we love the menu! Last night we had the new prawn and brandy pasta-yum! the lamb ragu pasta and the ever favourite carbonara pasata, which really for me is the best one. we will return!
Tina dined on Sat, 24th Nov 2018 (8)
we enjoyed some very delicious Asian food at Queen Chow. We love the cha siu in particular, the best we have tried! The other yummy dishes we had included duck, san choy bow and some mixed dumplings. The great wine selection also meant we were able to try a few new drops. Will be back for sure.
Tina dined on Wed, 21st Nov 2018 (7)
the food is really inventive and different chinese food -yummy dumplings, great noodles, the duck was a real stand out. the only thing that lets the place down is the lack of attention form the service staff. it was not very busy the night we went, and there were many staff on the floor but we always seemed to be having to flag them down. Hopefully that improves in future as we would be keen to return.
Tina dined on Sat, 10th Nov 2018 (7)
We love having a birthday treat from the greens to visit. Not that we need an excuse. The food is generally pretty good but we ordered the chicken wings and I must say they weren’t good value despite being quite tasty. It’s a great place to gather with friends for drinks.
Tina dined on Fri, 9th Nov 2018 (8)
We love this local Vietnamese. The pho is outstanding. We also enjoyed delicious spring rolls, chicken curt and fried rice with pork. Such yummy food. Will return
Tina dined on Tue, 6th Nov 2018 (8)
We went to celebrate my birthday and could not have been happier! We shared the fest banquet menu and every morsel was delicious, special favourite being the spatchcock and the haloumi.. and with many wines available by the glass or carafe we could try a different with almost every course. we will return again and again.
Tina dined on Fri, 2nd Nov 2018 (8)
We were recommended this place by a friend and we are so glad we came. The handmade pastas are outstanding. We had the bucatini and the lasagne. Also tried the parfait. Yummy. Dessert was ice cream sandwich. Will be back for sure.
Tina dined on Wed, 31st Oct 2018 (7)
The signature pork dish is a must try. We also had the duck noodles and they were delicious. In fact everything was yum so we will return again.
Tina dined on Sun, 2nd Sep 2018 (8)
we love Grolla - it is a must visit for when you are in the mood for italian food. It is delicious, and often inventive too - with Lek developing the menu all the time - meaning we get to experience yummy food. Their version of a carbonara is still my favourite, but the beef cheek special was melt in your mouth divine!
Tina dined on Fri, 13th Jul 2018 (8)
We love our local italian Grolla. We had the beef cheek special pasta which was melt in the mouth divine. One of our favourites is the guanciale pasta. A must try. Will be back again soon.
Tina dined on Thu, 12th Jul 2018 (7)
this was not the first time we have been to indu, and the food is what keeps us returning. The goat dosa was outstanding, with just the right hit of chili that does not overpower the flavours. the pork curry was divine. only thing is to ask for your breads/ dosa crispy else is comes a little underdone for our taste. The service is also a little hit and miss.
Tina dined on Thu, 21st Jun 2018 (5)
We went for trivia night which we always enjoy however the menu has changed. We found upscale pub food which was nice enough but not justified by the prices. I think people expect better value.
Tina dined on Thu, 7th Jun 2018 (7)
we enjoyed the vivid cruise progressive dinner between ripples Milsons point and Chowder bay - both places had friendly service and delicious food, however whilst the view of the harbour is one of the best in the world, the ambience of the Chowder Bay establishment was more relaxed, less noisy and just nice. only small gripe was that the wine came out late at one place, after the food had been served. in the second place the food was warm, not hot -but small things.
Tina dined on Wed, 2nd May 2018 (7)
A group of us shared a number of delicious dishes. Pork belly, crispy duck curry and the pork skewer was highly recommended but we didn't enjoy the barramundi steamed. Service was polite just not efficient as it was busy. Good value with the Dimmi discount though
Tina dined on Sun, 29th Apr 2018 (7)
We took the family out to celebrate my DAD's birthday. The views were spectacular and the service generally very good. We shared some of the best scallops I've had. We all had different mains. Pork belly was tasty and the steak very delicious too. The quail was not cooked through in some parts but the staff sorted this out and otherwise the flavour of the quail was delightful. Also the lamb pasta was great.
Tina dined on Mon, 23rd Apr 2018 (7)
This is a great little establishment! The cocktails are different and delicious. We enjoyed a selection of meats which are cured in house along with cheeses. The wagyu pastrami is s stand out. The tartine of pumpkin and feta was nice but nothing compared to the other items. The tomato straciatella dip also worth a mention. Will return.
Tina dined on Sat, 21st Apr 2018 (7)
We enjoyed the outdoor seating in the sun on a fine Sydney day with friends. The service was a little slow but friendly enough. The food was nice. We all ate pasta and the crab linguine was tasty but we needed to season it. The prawn one was delicious.
Tina dined on Thu, 19th Apr 2018 (7)
We order from quan Viet often but rarely get the chance to dine in. The service was friendly albeit a little slow. The food is always tasty and we recommend both the fresh spring rolls and the beef pho. However the crispy chicken came covered in sauce which made it soggy. May need to be renamed.
Tina dined on Wed, 18th Apr 2018 (7)
We enjoyed a friends catch up at the rumpus room. Delicious cheese and meats board with a burrata to start. Then we each enjoyed different pastas and risotto. The chitarone was particularly delicious. Only shame was that half the wines weren't available from the list. Service was friendly just a tad slow but it was a busy night.
Tina dined on Tue, 20th Mar 2018 (9)
We love this local Italian. The carbonara is one of the most delicious we have had and we are always happy with the tasty chicken wings. Will be back.
Tina dined on Wed, 14th Mar 2018 (8)
We shared a few dishes including the camel sausage which is worth a try, very spicy and delicious. The humus and Leanne were also yum. The lovely waiter was so kind and shared a few tastes of Turkish wine so we could decide which one we liked. A great way to introduce unknown wines to the diners. Glad to be back and will return.
Tina dined on Sun, 18th Feb 2018 (8)
We had the most superb meal at Blanca, and would highly recommend it for anyone keen to get a special meal with family or friends. The attention to detail, the flavours and textures work perfectly! we had the tasting menu and I had the paired wine/ sake which I would recommend. the service was a little hit and miss sadly as some of the staff didn't appear to have been trained as well as others.. but overall amazing experience. we shall return.
Tina dined on Fri, 2nd Feb 2018 (8)
We love this local gem. The haloumi is home made and a must do. The spit roast meats are amazing and the service is first rate. If only they could do something about the noise it would make such a difference.
Tina dined on Thu, 1st Feb 2018 (6)
We thought the food was good but weren't sure the wAgyu rump was that tender.didbt feel wAgyu like. Even though we had it medium rare. So it was a shame. We enjoyed the borewors and pork ribs. Sevice was good just hard to catch. May return.
Tina dined on Thu, 18th Jan 2018 (6)
We went for a team lunch. It was very busy but the food was lovely. Most of us had the poke bowl which was fresh. The service seemed quite slow as we had to wave staff down to get anything. Shame as there appeared to be plenty of them. Just not looking out.
Tina dined on Sat, 13th Jan 2018 (9)
This is truly one of the best restaurants in Sydney. The food is clever, innovative yet unfussy and delicious! Chef Jacqui and her team never fail. We enjoyed the empanadas. A must. Then burrata followed by the tongue and the spatchcock. Even had room for desserts this time. The icre cream sandwich is highly recommended. Will be back for sure.
Tina dined on Sun, 7th Jan 2018 (8)
We love this delicious local joint and are happy to visit anytime. This time we enjoyed the divine, silky and meaty pappardelle with ragu. Also having tried the chicken wings we can highly recommend them. The new wines are also a hit. Keep up the great work Paolo and Lek.
Tina dined on Tue, 5th Dec 2017 (7)
We went for a business meeting, and it was lucky we went early as it was nice and peaceful, and it was lovely in the sun. We both had the Poke salad bowl and they were delicious.
Tina dined on Sat, 25th Nov 2017 (7)
The food at barrel is always delicious. We had quail which was tasty and well cooked. My pork belly and black pudding was outstanding too. My partners gnocchi a lite harder than pillow soft but the ragu was divine. This is a bit of a shame as the service is almost nonexistent. We live around the corner and have only eaten here twice as a result. Sadly we are unlikely to return.
Tina dined on Sun, 29th Oct 2017 (7)
The lobster brunch was a fabulous idea and I would recommend going if you haven't. Delicious lobster based 3 course with bottomless champers. What's not to love?
Tina dined on Sat, 30th Sep 2017 (8)
Our waitress was very friendly and looked after us well. We shared the tbone which was perfectly cooked and delicious and the others delighted in their lamb cutlets. Will be back :)
Tina dined on Sat, 26th Aug 2017 (8)
We love eating at Grolla. Such a delicious menu that everything we have tried so far has been superb. Really must try for anyone who enjoys inventive Italian food.
Tina dined on Thu, 24th Aug 2017 (7)
We went as a group for trivia an that was fantastic ! Most of us had the special chicken parmi which was tasty and filling. Will return.
Tina dined on Sun, 20th Aug 2017 (7)
We shared the feast platter among three and we even had left overs to take home. The meats were tasty and wel cooked. The salads yum too. A fun night.
Tina dined on Fri, 11th Aug 2017 (9)
We love this Italian for a special occasion. Definitely have their take on carbonara!! It's divine.
Tina dined on Tue, 18th Jul 2017 (6)
We had the perfect view over the water on a warm winter night and whilst the food was very good we have had better fine dining. The real disappointment was that they haven't trained the staff so questions needed to be referred to be answered a few times. We also had to ask for water and wine refills a few times. And it wasn't that busy. Shame. we won't be back due to Sydney being spoilt for choice at the higher end of dining.
Tina dined on Thu, 6th Jul 2017 (6)
The onion soup was delightful but the service was really hit and miss. Must have been an off night because the steak frites and coq au vin were average. Might give it another go.
Tina dined on Thu, 29th Jun 2017 (9)
We love this delicious local Italian. Their signature dishes are superb. Our favourites include the spaghetti with guanciale and of course the beef rib. Now with an updated wine list it's even better.
Tina dined on Thu, 22nd Jun 2017 (6)
We thought the food will be exciting and it was however there was a little balance lacking with the vinegar/ acid. Had bone marrow and Caesar salad to start which were good. Steak delicious as was the lamb shank. Just could do with a revisit on the prices as we had a discount otherwise would've been quite pricy.
Tina dined on Tue, 20th Jun 2017 (7)
We went for the trivia and had a blast.
Tina dined on Wed, 24th May 2017 (6)
We were little surprised by this meal as we are generally big fratelli friends. Having eaten at most of their joints. Linguine prawn was nice however the prawns were a little watery. The bistecca was sadly cold and despite asking for it to be warmed to the point that at least the butter melted. It was not quite there. Having been here for a good meal before I might try it again to see if it's improves. But not sure. Shame as the rest of the fratelli brand is able to deliver.
Tina dined on Thu, 4th May 2017 (8)
We loved our first meal at no 1 bent. Delicious and fresh burrata followed by the chicken which was tender and super tasty. We also shared the skirt steak. So good. What's best though is the service. Friends and attentive. We will be back.
Tina dined on Wed, 15th Mar 2017 (7)
We enjoyed the meal at booth at bistro however I'm not sure it would've been worth full price as we were on 50% deal. The service whilst friendly wasn't knowledgable. The scallops were delicious as was the steak. Could do with some background music.
Tina dined on Sat, 25th Feb 2017 (8)
we have yet to eat something at Grolla that we didnt like - the food is truly superb and we are lucky to have it as our local dining spot. The beef rib is always a winner, and the new skewers are tasty little morsels to prepare your palate - the octopus was tender and delicious, as was the cured kingfish -we will return again.
Tina dined on Thu, 5th Jan 2017 (7)
The home made gnocchi was divine as was the pizza. Food very delicious it's just the service that could do with a little training. Smiles would be nice.
Tina dined on Thu, 1st Dec 2016 (8)
The service was friendly and makes the experience at chachis feel like a local Italian. We shared pizza and pasta and both were very tasty.
Tina dined on Tue, 25th Oct 2016 (8)
We thought all the dumplings were delicious. Tried truffle, carrot, Martian, kiss me etc. all uniquely presented and tasty. Only issue was it took along time for the food to arrive. Luckily our waiter was outstanding.
Tina dined on Sat, 24th Sep 2016 (7)
The pizza is superb. We shared the tartufo. Highly recommend it. Pastas were delicious too.
Tina dined on Sat, 6th Aug 2016 (7)
We shared the wagyu lovers set and it was delicious. Whilst the place is a little out of the way for us it was really worth the trip.
Tina dined on Fri, 1st Jul 2016 (7)
We enjoyed the variety and unusual combination of the Japanese and Spanish menu. It was probably more than I would spend on lunch generally but very tasty.
Tina dined on Tue, 8th Mar 2016 (7)
We really enjoyed the food. A twist on traditional Indian. Service was ok but not outstanding. Pricy for Indian food but worth it for a special night out. Issue with tables so close together especially as there were so many mAking for a loud environment. Happy to try it again though.
Tina dined on Thu, 25th Feb 2016 (8)
We enjoyed some delicious food especially the cheese soufflé. The service was generally friendly.
Tina dined on Mon, 21st Dec 2015 (8)
Andy is a real credit to this bar as he brings warmth, fun and a sense of community to this lovely little bar hidden down the stairs. Food was tasty and just the right amount for snacks and drinks with friends. We shall return.
Tina dined on Fri, 31st Jul 2015 (6)
This was our second visit. The food is very delicious just don't be in a hurry as the service is a little slow. The stewed chicken was a particular delight.
Tina dined on Thu, 4th Jun 2015 (8)
we were delighted by the quality of the churasco! such succulent and tender meats, cheeses, prawns -yum! The lovely waiter who was bringin these delicious morsels around was from Brazil too, and very charming. A good night out for the thre of us.
Tina dined on Wed, 29th Apr 2015 (7)
we have been to El Phoenician a few times and now and its always a delicious meal with friendly service.. we will be back.
Tina dined on Tue, 3rd Mar 2015 (8)
the waiters we had were Brazilian and very friendly and accomodating.. just addig to the authentic Brazilian atmosphere. the food was very delicious and all 3 of us had the churrasco. Highly recommend.
Tina dined on Tue, 13th Jan 2015 (8)
With our special deal the delicious meal tonight was great value. The steak here is always excellent and this evening was just as outstanding..we both had rib eye on the bone and the dry aged version was just that little more flavorsome. Whilst it was very busy the service was friendly and attentive. All in all a great meal.
Tina dined on Thu, 4th Sep 2014 (8)
we love this little local gem Entwine.. with many new and different wines to discover, and they change too so you always have reasons to return. the food is shared, with delicious morsels in tapas style. We had pork belly, ribs, scallops, chorizo, etc and every single dish was very tasty. Will return.
Tina dined on Sun, 3rd Aug 2014 (7)
this is a cosy little european gem of a dining establishment. the food was plentiful and tasty -the pork knuckle itself would have been enough for two, and the pierogi so silken and full of flavour. we would take a group back there next time as i would be happy to introduce friends to this lovely spot.
Tina dined on Sat, 2nd Aug 2014 (6)
we thought the yum cha and other foods were very tasty and good quality, with dumplings full and plump, and the shandong chicken delightful..however the price was more than we would normally pay for good quality yum cha. we may go back, but it would be a special occasion.
Tina dined on Fri, 20th Jun 2014 (7)
we had a most delicious meal, the spatchcock was divine, as was the risotto-but the real winner was that raspberry mousse! all food was top notch, just a shame that the service let it down, they just needed a little more training.
Tina dined on Fri, 6th Jun 2014 (7)
we will miss this lovely little local.. food was always lovely, though not the cheapest meal out, the quality was great!
Tina dined on Fri, 16th May 2014 (7)
The food here is always very good. We had the pasta which was delicious and rich, and the pork belly..also always a winner. Our friends both had the chicken and enjoyed that too. A really wonderful fun night but it does get very loud.
Tina dined on Sat, 26th Apr 2014 (7)
the food here is delicious if you like the american diner style of eating -fried chicken, cheese dips and the mole sauce -yum! the service however lets it down.
Tina dined on Sat, 8th Mar 2014 (7)
Emmilou is a great little neighbourhood find.. all the tapas dishes were delicious, the croque senor, the zucchini flowers and the special cheese sticks all divine. sadly the paella was a bit of a let down especially given the price. would go back for drinks and snack though
Tina dined on Wed, 26th Feb 2014 (6)
the food here is divine, traditional french flavours.. i had the souffle, light cheesy delicious! and my partner the duck terrine, equally delihgtful and a fairly sizeable portion. My duck pie and truffle mash was to die for, and my partners lamb was also tasty. the service however was really inattentive despite them being plentiful, they simply are not looking around enough which is a shame as it meant we didnt get those 2nd glasses of wine nor dessert. their loss.
Tina dined on Mon, 10th Feb 2014 (9)
we love the steak here and will be coming back again and again. Its not cheap but the quality is worth the price if you are looking for a really good steak cooked perfectly. we had the dry aged rib eye and the striploin and enjoyed both.
Tina dined on Sat, 1st Feb 2014 (7)
Food was delish..we started with an unusual but tasty prawn cocktail, and the crumbed pork was super flavoursome..then for mains i had the rib eye steak, and my partner had the saffron linguine..both very yum. service was friendly and engaging, only downside was being seated right near the toilets.
Tina dined on Thu, 2nd Jan 2014 (7)
we decided to eat a little early for dinner, which meant it was just us in the restaurant -though there did appear to be a fair bit of take away traffic. the food was delicious, and the service friendly enough, though not super attentive, and it was just a little odd having such a big space to ourselves.
Tina dined on Fri, 6th Dec 2013 (8)
We thoroughly enjoyed every morsel. The chicken is a must.
Tina dined on Thu, 21st Nov 2013 (7)
the shared beef sirloin was delicious and served pink, despite being cooked 6 hours.. yum! the service was attentive and friendly.. and the fried chicken a must try.
Tina dined on Thu, 17th Oct 2013 (7)
We went for the signature crayfish spaghetti dish and whilst it was nice it didnt blow my socks off, and at 95$ it really should. the views are divine and the rest of the meal was delicious, duck and lamb, and we shared a delightful chocolate shared platter.. service was friendly enough, though not at the standard one might expect for the price
Tina dined on Sat, 28th Sep 2013 (8)
this is a lovely little gem of an Italian.. feels like a modern take on the Trattoria..complete with warm service staff and delicious food. we were a party of four and shared entrees-olives, polenta cakes, zucchini flowers and arancini-all were lovely. the mains also very very good, but the highlight had to be the feather light gnocchi.. we will be back.
Tina dined on Thu, 1st Aug 2013 (6)
Food was delicious, reminded us of a ltitle local italian trat.. the lasagne especially, with large chunks of duck meat yum! pizza was good, not too thin or too doughy. all in all an nice little italian.
Tina dined on Tue, 30th Jul 2013 (7)
We were surprised at how busy the place was for a Tuesday night, which gave the buzzy vibe of a great steak joint.. sadly the service was not able to keep up - nor were they quite as knowledgeable as you would expect of an exceptional steak restaurant. We were impressed by the food very much, 2 different steaks and a chicken dish were all delightful, preceded by crisp light zucchini flowers. it was a disappointment though at the end of the meal when the dimmi deal had to be explained to the waitress twice and there was a bad taste left as a result of us trying to explain, there really is no need for a voucher and you have it noted on your system that we booked a dimmi deal, that is why we use dimmi as a booking portal specifically as there is no need to remember a voucher.. dimmi may need to educate the establishments and their staff better to ensure a simply delicious meal is not ruined due to service miscommunication.
Tina dined on Thu, 4th Jul 2013 (3)
If only our waitress were to have given us a smile, or any sign of engagement, this meal would have been pleasant. But she was not versed in the art of customer service sadly. the food, whilst not your traditional authentic Vietnamese, was very tasty - though serving a soup to be eatien in a hand rolled rice wrap was a little unsual, the taste was great. We also had the Pork and egg special dish of Vietnam, which was lovely and full of flavour, the only downside to the sizzling duck, was once the sizzle has abated, there was a lot of oil left which wasnt pleasant. Shame, as we were keen on something new.
Tina dined on Thu, 28th Mar 2013 (8)
We once more enjoyed this lovely little place. Food and service were divine.
Tina dined on Fri, 8th Mar 2013 (8)
we had a most enjoyable meal, and couldn't fault any of the elements.. the boar ragu, the burger (which was surprisingly amazing) and the pork shoulder, all very yum!.. even the wine list has a huge amount of choice. I wouldn't call it a cheap eat, but it is worth the extra cash when you are in the mood for a nice meal out.
