Lalla Rookh

We have been three times and had Il Capo each time. We had a beautifully balanced meal, each course not what we’d pick for ourselves so a lovely treat to have the chef’s recommendation.

East Victoria Park

We have been here several times over many years and never been disappointed. Good place if you like to talk over a meal and not compete with lots of noise. Great food and service and yes, you get a crisp white tablecloth.

Fat Dragon

Mount Lawley

It has been about 3 years since I was last here and pleased to say it hasn't lost it's standards. Great food as always.

Nasi Lemak Korner

This is our second visit. We had the tasting plate both times which is a good way to kick off a group feast or a quick bite before the movies. Addictive roti bread. We will return!

Red Cabbage

South Perth

Carmen dined on Thu, 1st Dec 2016 (6)

We had not been to Red Cabbage for 4 years and I am sad to see a lovely fine dining experience lose its shine. We opted for the 7 course set menu, which got off to a bad start as the prawns were wrapped up by limp soggy lettuce. Then things took a turn for the better after a couple of courses and we had quite delicious mains. I opted for a very tasty lamb. There were a couple of adventurous courses, one with blue cheese and sweet sauce, which was quite interesting and pleasant. Waitstaff were attentive but no table cloths; a personal dislike that is all too common. Generally a reasonable dining experience, but did not leave me wanting to return too soon.

Petite Mort

Shenton Park

Generally beautiful food, beautifully presented. Service was prompt but not overly slick. What is it about Perth having no tablecloths?! At this price point I would expect a bit more finesse. This is not the only place to dupe diners with a styling trend that saves them money and offers nothing extra to the experience. The rabbit dish needs an extra element to pull it together as it is a tad dry and the gin and tonic foam as a palette cleanser misses. The place was doing a roaring trade so it seems there is more to appeal to most. Wine list good but pricey so come cashed up if you like a couple of bottles.

Juniper & Bay

We were really impressed with the food and service. Between us we has prawns, duck and a vegetarian option, all tasty and beautifully presented. The only negative was the electronica background music. It took away the ambiance. Regardless, we will definitely go again.

Galangal Thai Cuisine

Mount Hawthorn

Carmen dined on Fri, 31st Oct 2014 (9)

This was a beautiful meal, well presented and fresh flavours. We started with fish cakes and chicken and corn bites ( not the correct title) which were really very delicious. We had a variety of dishes, including a pork belly special that melted in the mouth. The quality of the food was exceptional. Each dish was of a high standards in taste and appearance. I would definitely go again!

Melbourne CBD

We ordered a set menu selection l, which was altered to suit our tastes and was really delicious and fresh. It was perhaps too much food as we left a good bit of the last serves. The pork jowl was a highlight and corn cob with a dried corn soil and paprika aoli. Highly recommended. We would probably order less food next time and would definitely come back another time. There was no room for dessert and I would love to try the Portuguese tarts!
