Very enjoyable dinner at Restaurant 221. Highlights were the scallops and pork belly for entree, and duck and lamb for mains. Nice selection of wines on the wine list from local wineries. Will definitely return.

overpriced venue and the loud band noise from the adjoining bistro area will deter us from attending again.

Food was fantastic. The problem was getting someone to take your food and drinks order. Seemed to be young inexperienced staff staring into space while hungry diners suffered. Still love this restaurant and have not had a service problem before this. Hopefully they will iron out the kinks before my next visit!

We had a lovely lunch in a charming old hotel. The menu was good as was the service.

Had lunch in the restaurant. Very average. Would have been nice to have side dishes of vegetables or salad on the menu. Had a machine which added up or processed the orders, which was noisy. Meal quite good but over priced.

The food was of a very high standard, delicious and plated in an eye pleasing manner. Could not fault the food. The service was friendly and efficient with no sense of pretentiousness. The cost represents excellent value for a three course meal delivered at such a high quality.

Our family of four had dinner in the 221 Restaurant during our trip to the Hunter a week ago. We chose The Royal Oak Hotel (where its located) due to its proximity to our accommodation and excellent online reviews. I have to say that the food did not disappoint and prices for the quality of food were reasonable. The service was comparable to any fine dining restaurants. Everyone at the table enjoyed our meal very much.
