Meet the Chef

Sean started his culinary journey on his grandfather’s cattle farm in South Africa, learning how different beef raising and cooking techniques could impact the flavour of the meat. Hall’s then moved to the UK where he completed his apprenticeship at Langdale Estat, expanding his culinary skill set to include classically trained French preparation techniques. Hall then began working with the Jamie Oliver Group, where his personal ethos to let the produce do the talking was very much at home.

Booked for a table of 10 for a surprise birthday for my partner. They were very accommodating with organising a table to fit us all when we needed an extra seat and also knew to be secretive in leading the birthday boy to the table! Food was excellent. Service was good. Would definitely return for a special occasion!

From entering everyone was so friendly and nice, ordered drinks and entrees as well as 2 kids meals, husbands alcoholic beverage came and still after 15 mins our soft drinks didn’t, our entrees arrived well before the soft drinks but still no kids meal, after some time they arrived and 1 was incorrect being they gave us the lobster Mac and cheese instead of the kids ones, and one we actually went to pay I realised after while walking home they charged us for the lobster Mac and cheese, we ordered 2 steaks for mains, mine was suppose to be medium well and came out rare! And husbands was suppose to be medium but came out more well done, the food overall was nice apart from me not being able to eat the middle of the steak and all, they took $40 off the bill for the steak but still I didn’t realise the max and cheese mistake till we got to the hotel

While the food was very good, the prices were far too high for what was offered. The service was very good overall with the exception of one waitress who wanted to take our starter plate away before we had finished it. The setting is of course 10/10 with harbour & Opera House views right in front of you. When this world gets back to normal, this restaurant will service the overseas travellers well, but I sincerely hope they won’t be revered as a rip-off Sydney restaurant because, as a local trying to support the hospitality industry, I feel this is what happened to me today.

A beautiful little part of Sydney with lovely views. Service was great, attentive but not over the top. The cut of steak was well worth the price and I would gladly go back.

Very attentive staff and yummy food! It was a great treat for my birthday. We sat inside and still had a great view of the Sydney Opera House. Felt covid safe.

Waiter got my order wrong and forgot our sides; previously been a few other times and it was great, however the current crowd that 6 Head attracts is no longer for me so I probably won’t be back any time soon. It use to be a classy place now it’s been taken over by large groups of kids celebrating their birthdays.

I took my husband to 6Head on his birthday recently. This was our first time. We ordered: Drinks * Yang Spritz * Opera Mule Entree * Trout Sashimi * Rump Tartare Main * Wagyu Rib Eye * Fish & Chips Sides * Lobster Mac & Cheese * Hasselback Potato * Mash Potato * Pepper Sauce * Mushroom Sauce The food was stunning from the get-go. Our entrees were fresh and flavoursome. The tartare was definitely the stronger dish out of the two. The fact that it was presented in a glass cloche with a bit of theatrical smoke effect was the winner for me! My husband’s Wagyu steak was unbelievably tender and so flavoursome! He kept saying that it didn’t need the 2 x sauces but we were glad we tried them anyway as we are a big fan of pepper and mushroom sauce. The fish & chips were nice but I couldn’t finish my portion given the number of sides. The fish was nicely battered and tender. The Lobster Mac & Cheese was so special and luxurious. The hasselback potato was probably the best I’ve ever had as it had caviar on it and sour cream! Just luscious!! The Yang Spritz I ordered came in one of the biggest cocktail glasses I’ve ever had. Even towards the end I struggled to drink it all. Unfortunately, dessert didn’t jump out at us so we skipped it. The ambience was beautiful and peaceful until it filled with more patrons the later it got. The service was attentive and Rodrigo was very accommodating and kind. Great experience. 6Head is definitely renown for its steaks. There was an A5 grade Hida Wagyu hanging in the fridge next to reception. Apparently 6Head release this from time to time for patrons to order it! We will definitely return!

Service and staff need improvement. Our waiter was amazing very helpful, he left at 10.00pm. After he left and cleared the table non asked ud if we wanted dessert or coffee, the staff were to concern in moving the furniture inside and talking with each other. it then took 30 minutes to get the bill. They basically made us feel like they wanted us to leave. it was my brother in law birthday and we didn't even get the chance to get him dessert. For a place that charges the prices you do maybe train the staff to be at the same standard to reflect the same quality as the restaurant.

We were very happy with the service and the food at 6 Head.... if I was to change anything it would be my order of Quail..... flavours were delicious, but far too difficult to eat with a knife an fork in such a nice restaurant, I was in fear of swallowing one of the tiny bones....
