It felt really welcoming and homely as soon as we walked in. The decor was simple but colourful and gave the place a good look and feel. The music could have done with being a little bit quieter, but that was about it. Very tasty food and friendly service.

Our group of 13 came to this restaurant on a Wednesday to taste some Ethiopian food and were very pleased. The variety of food was terrific and this gave the group the opportunity to taste many different foods. Would come again.

About the restaurant

Try something new

Have you ever tried Ethiopian food Characterised by the variety of spices used to give dishes their exotic taste, this cuisine is a tasty surprise. Ethiopian cuisine typically consists of vegetable and very spicy meat dishes. So if you like heat and like to try new things we suggest you give Abesha a whirl. Try a Sambusa, a golden pastry shell filled with vegetables or meat, and a Watt, a stew-like dish in the form of beef, lamb, chicken and vegetables or Kay Watt and it’s likely that you’ll be an Ethiopian convert.

Best dish: Kay Watt - very lean chopped lamb simmered in a herber sauce with red onion, seasoned with ginger root, garlic sauteed until golden and simmered in hot sauce with mixed spices
