Excellent
Little city gem with really delicious food. Would definitely come back. The only downside is that service was a little slow, probably not suitable for a quick office lunch hour. But increadibly helpful and friendly staff.
Lovely food and very attentive wait staff. Highly recommend
lovely freshly made food with charming service. Great value for money too. lovely freshly made food with charming service. Great value for money too.
We enjoyed the delicious middle eastern cuisine. The chicken shish was really yummy
We did the Fork Festival. There was so much food, it was great value!
The food, service and vibe of this restaurant is exceptional. Perfect for any night of the week. Oh and the cocktails are fantastic. I can't wait to go back.
This the third time I have been to Above Par and it never disappoints. The food is delicious and they have amazing wine and the service is impeccable. I will definitely be back. Thank you.
Easy to find, service is extremely good. Food is delicious and environment is very lovely. Highly recommended. I will be going there more often for sure!
The menu was quite small but the food was good and authentic. The service was fast and efficient. All-in-all a great place for quick authentic Mediterranean food. We will be back.
Love the food
Read the reviews so thought it was worth a shot. Nice locale ( we went after a show at the State Theatre), very nice fit-out, polite and efficient staff and modern middle eastern is a nice approach. Food was a bit of a let down however. Have had same style with much better execution (eg. Sefa kitchen). Cauliflower needed more time in a hotter oven, eggplant was really a variation on ratatouille and not great. Hommos and bread lovely but both about 3 dollars over priced. We had their cheapest Spanish red, but $62 for a quaffer that was very average is insane. Calamari was very tender and beautifully presented. Overall there's real promise but need a smaller wine list with some guaranteed good priced drops, and the food just needs to be cooked better.
Highly recommended the food was so delicious and the atmosphere is relaxed. The staff are so friendly you won't be disappointed. We will definitely be returning
A cute little restaurant, worth giving a try. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for smaller groups or a date night. Customer service was top notch and the interesting flavor combinations of the dishes were a delight. Service was great and food was tasty. However portions for price paid were very tiny. We were a group of 7 who decided to share the items as suggested on the menu, but if I were to go again I wouldnt choose to share between a large group. Hummus was ordered as a starter but was abundant on almost all dishes, bread to pair with it was interesting (in a good way) but again small amount given for the number of us dining. Would have liked more than 1 serve of bread or to be given complimentary bread when ordering the hummus as a starter, not having to pay $7 a pop. We appreciated that there were middle eastern beer on the beverage menu- Though we were overcharged for our beers. Everyone enjoyed dinner. Im sure if we were in the area & in the mood for middle eastern again we'd give it another go.
Great atmosphere and food
Food was amazing but service was quite average due to the busy lunch time so took a while for the food to come out. Make sure you leave plenty of time for lunch!
Great food and atomosphere. Definitely a hidden gem
Food was delicious, really enjoyed our girls dinner. Would also be great to take a client, good atmosphere too with DJ playing light music outside. Thank you
Amazing food and a pretty good wine selection. Will definitely be back!
Friendly nicely decorated place a little smaller than I'd anticipated. We chose to sit inside away from the noise of the street and the DJ who was there for the night. Food was tasty but not as "middle eastern" as I'd expected. The staff were a little too eager all the time to take your order before you've even looked at the menu, to clear your plate as soon as you've put your knife and fork down etc. but you knew they were trying hard to give good service.
The menu has changed since we went last time Unfortunately we think that it was better before, which was quite disappointing. Its still very good but it's just not what we remember. I'd definitely go to try it though
