Service fantastic! Food delicious and reasonably priced. We had a table of five work colleagues. Everyone ordered something different and everyone absolutely loved their meal. Would recommend to anyone!
Agostinis provided a solid midweek meal. Restaurant decor has achieved a good mix of the traditional Italian restaurant styling - packages of pasta, tinned tomatoes and breadsticks with a modern twist. Pizza bread and caprese salad were delicious, with the right amount of seasoning to bring out the various flavours. Mains of fish of the day and duck ragu were ok but nothing special. Overall a solid meal.
We were fortunate to find Agostinis were open during the traditional Christmas shutdown period for Canberra restaurants. My wife was celebrating a major milestone in age during this period. The people on our table who ordered Pizza and Pasta dishes at our table found their dishes to be delicious although I found my Veal a little dry (maybe could do with some sauce). For a busy night we were attended to promptly by friendly and helpful staff.
We attended with a group of friends and family for a birthday dinner. The service and food was all outstanding. Staff went above and beyond to make it a special evening and put together an amazing dessert board with candles and singing of Happy Birthday. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Particularly charming. Friendly and great atmosphere. Waiting staff were highly professional. Good of high quality and sophisticated. The evening was for our daughters 19th birthday and it fulfilled all our hopes for a beautiful celebratory evening.
Nice food, good service, would eat again
Easy to locate in the East Hotel.Seated to our table promptly with menus and wine list. The food was excellent and the local Chardonnay was great. We where served by Mary and she was informative and very helpful about the Canberra area as we where visiting for Xmas.Thank you Agostinis..
Good food! Great service!! Special Thank You to Jamal who assists in reserve the T-Bone and Fairly Floss for my son's birthday! We will definitely recommend this place to our friends.
A really great night at Agostino. Probably the best pizza in Canberra. A great place to catch up with friends in the inner south.
We enjoyed our food and the service wasn't bad, I think the staff may have been a bit busy with all the Christmas parties around us. It is good value.
The food was just ok, not outstanding. The squid ink pasta had about 6 strands of black pasta the rest was normal and very, very al dente. An extra glass of wine was ordered and after a 20 minute wait it had to be chased up. Duck ragu very bland with very small amount of duck. Other tomato based pastas very thick and gluggy. Not fresh and simple.
The atmosphere and service were great; the Italian wines were really good value, and the first courses were delicious. However, the lasagne and fettuccine were way too soft, and spoiled the overall impression for a couple who likes their pasta al dente. Overcooked pasta is a disappointing and surprising experience in an Italian restaurant. We would return, but would most likely avoid ordering pasta again. Based on the meals we saw on other tables, pizza seems to be a good and reasonable choice in Agostinis.
Agostino’s was great for a night out with friends. Superb food and atmosphere. Busy night but still quiet enough to hear all the conversation at our table.
Agostinis provided excellent service, very attentive to our needs. The food was great & the deserts were excellent. The place was buzzing with atmosphere but a little noisy. They also validate your parking ticket so to not have to pay for parking was a excellent bonus.
Great service and food, will return.
I went there because it was in the Good Food Guide. It must have gone downhill a lot since the review. The food was poor. The calamari was oily and the spaghetti alla vongole was swamped by a sweet tomato sauce.
I absolutely love the pizza, and the selection of desserts are marvellous. Well located in beautiful Kingston. My favourite Italian restaurant in Canberra so far
Really nice evening. Cracking pizza. Great service. Recommend!!!!
Nice evening in the alfresco dining area. Food was nice, service was good. Wine on the expensive side. Had a lovely white anchovy and chilli and partner had a lovely Balmain bug entree. Main course was the eggplant tortellini and seafood linguine. Found the tortellini just slightly over salted. Partners seafood linguini was delicious. Beautiful Canberra Riesling, but was expensive. Our waiter was attentive. At over $80 a head for 2 courses, it was on the expensive side but overall a nice evening.
Delicious food and always excellent friendly service. Atmosphere very welcoming and relaxing, particularly love the outdoor area. Neighbourhood gem.
