Excellent food, but not enough food and very over priced for the quantity of food!

Had the omakase which was great with attentive service, however we did have to wait half an hour for our booked table

Thanks to Hugo for a wonderful experience. His knowledge of the menu was outstanding, his professionalism and enthusiasm for the food added to the dining experience at akaiito.

Overall, Akaiito was a good experience, however new-restaurant service niggles are still to be ironed out. - Food was of quality, and despite our complex ordering, everything came out well timed and as expected. - Stand out dishes were beef tataki, pork belly yakitori and the lamb ribs. Sushimi was of high quality too. - Availability of some drinks, including many sake varieties, was limited and the menus required refresh. - Service was not exactly slick, due to inexperienced staff and new restaurant teething issues. However, all the staff were very attentive and accommodating with dietary requirements (even making a list from the chef of suitable dishes for one guest). - I’m the end, the service was a combination of multiple staff for individual questions, double up of service (we had to give our order twice), but yet we had to ask three times for water. Haha - we were patient though. - The fit out is really special. Perfect lighting, good sound levels, and a countersunk kitchen as the centre piece.

Food was incredible! So unique! We ordered the set menu for $85pp. and we were wowed by every dish, and definitely full by the end.
