Somer Sivrioglu

In 2007, Somer opened his first restaurant, Efendy, in Sydney’s Balmain. In 2015, Somer co-authored his first cookbook, Anatolia: Adventures in Turkish Cooking, with David Dale.Somer opened his second restaurant, Anason, in Sydney’s Barangaroo harbourfront precinct in 2016. As a mark of his success, he is now one of the key judges on the new2018 MasterChef Turkey, a franchise of the international hit show.

The food was great. Service was a little pushy. We had a reservation for 7pm. We were given the bill as they wanted to close early, but upon giving us the bill the waiter stood there waiting for us to pay then and there, which was annoying. We were a group of 4.

Excellent food - the bread, hommus and haloumi are MUST eats. It’s an excellent restaurant with lots of delightful little touches (including blankets for those of us sitting outside!) - absolutely will go back!
