Somer Sivrioglu

In 2007, Somer opened his first restaurant, Efendy, in Sydney’s Balmain. In 2015, Somer co-authored his first cookbook, Anatolia: Adventures in Turkish Cooking, with David Dale.Somer opened his second restaurant, Anason, in Sydney’s Barangaroo harbourfront precinct in 2016. As a mark of his success, he is now one of the key judges on the new2018 MasterChef Turkey, a franchise of the international hit show.

Service was really good. The lamb was the best. The octopus was average possibly because it was not that fresh.

Lovely food and beautiful setting on the Sydney waterfront. Vibrant atmosphere. Not a place to go on a windy day as although blankets were provided, it was hard to hold a conversation with the gust blowing across our table the whole time.

Amazing service - all the staff were wonderful. They saw me opening a present and realised it was my birthday and they sang happy birthday and brought dessert! Fantastic. The food was also wonderful

Food was really nice and some of the staff were super friendly, will go back once it gets a bit warmer. We had a lamb dish that was beyond amazing and the Turkish borek was an absolute delight, much better than I had anticipated.

Small servings for big money you are only really paying for the view the food and dishes are lovely but just really expensive for what you get.

Food is no longer as good as before although their service's still very tentative. Tarama's still acceptable but the one I had before with the biscuit sticks were better. Grilled octopus did not have the divine aroma as I had it before. Lamb was ok.
