My partner and I dined Saturday night. Two-thirds of the restaurant were occupied since there was a big group of three large tables celebrating a birthday. Wide variety on menu, rice was delicious too. Shisha and desserts available next door. Thanks for the good evening!

The food was average. We ordered a fresh lemon juice but never came even we asked to check what was going on and no one ever replied. They self ordered three dips plates without asking us preference. I would have ordered the mixed dip of four choices with less cost. At the end, we wasted more that half of each .but I didn’t get my favorite garlic dip . The band announced someone’s birthday .the belly dancer danced with the group. We also requested for some interaction for our little birthday girl but nothing happened not even mentioned anything at all. Belly dancing only appeared for no more than 15min and 10 second in front of our table.

A wonderful venue away from the main crowd of Newtown. Decent selection of mains, but the main draw are the Mezze menus. For a group looking to share a few plates, these are fantastic. We spent a majority of our time trying to decide which ones to go for. Well worth the time, well worth the money, well worth the visit.

About the restaurant

Our Home is Your Home Located at the quieter southern end of Newtown’s King Street, Arabella Bar and Restaurant is a breath of fresh air in a restaurant strip largely dominated by Thai restaurants. Arabella Restaurant and Bar stays true to its name (meaning “house” in Arabic) in both menu offerings and décor. Owner Mohamed Zouhour has created an authentic yet modern ambiance featuring communal tables for larger groups and a cushion room for those who really want to get into the atmosphere. Diners are invited to savour the full Lebanese dining experience with the tantalising scent of eggplant, sizzling cutlets and shish kebabs wafting off the grill in the large open kitchen. Freshness is the order of the day here, where all salads, cold dips and meats are marinated and prepared fresh daily using organic produce wherever possible. With a menu as extensive as this, first timers are recommended to order the hot or cold mezze to savour the many delights of Lebanese cuisine. And how can we forget to mention those lucky enough to dine on a Friday or Saturday night can also enjoy a live belly dancing display. Best dish: Mansaf lamb
