While the food was good I am not sure whether I will come back and pay the full price . With the discount voucher from Dimmis it is an axcellenr value, however without a discount our dinner would have been quite pricey . The atmosphere and ambience is not great . It is a very dark and noisy place. We could not hear each other . We have not seen our friends for a long time and were looking forward to a pleasant conversation but it was not to be. In addition, there was some confusion with out booking and we received the bill without a discount. It took a few more attempts to fix it. I understand that mistakes sometimes happen but when they are not fixed promptly , it leaves a sour taste in your mouth. The service from the waiter during the dinner was professional .

Enticing menu matched by dining satisfaction

The babaganoush was outstanding, most of the meat was fine, but the vegetarian options were lacking in vegetable matter which made the meal overwhelmingly stodgy. Even the Tabbouleh was thin on the ground regarding quantity. The acoustics (low ceiling) make the place somewhat noisy, so it is hard to have a conversation.

very welcoming service . an interesting menu with a mix of share or entrée size dishes, then mains. we shared an entrée then lamb hotpot between two with 2 sides (generous size) which was plenty. the mixed dessert platter was very nice with Turkish coffees after.

Was last here about 25 years ago - same friendly service (albeit a little slow) and delicious and generous meals.

We've been there a number of times. Repeat visit is the best feedback. Love the place.

About Arabesque

Sultan’s palace Combining a bar and restaurant with a distinct Middle Eastern feel, Arabesque in leafy Elsternwick offers contemporary tastes of Turkish culture through the menu and its sumptuous interior. Tactile and inviting, Arabesque features brightly coloured bolts of draped cloth on the ceiling, warm gold and red tones and romantic lighting aplenty. Reminiscent of a Sultan’s palace this is an intimate modern and stylish space where you can enjoy a selection of traditional starters, dips and appetisers/meze with a glass of wine, mains such as Shish lamb, a selection of salads like tabouleh and delectable desserts such as Turkish Delight and Baklava. Best dish: three dips with Turkish bread & pickled vegetables
