The food was delicious. We had tapas, seafood, steak, paella. Very tasty and no crumb left over. Range of drinks was enormous. We tried Spanish brands. Lovely! We had to ask for further drinks, but that was minor. We'll go again.

Fabulous restaurant. Food is fresh, tasty and beautifully presented whether you are ordering tapas or a main meal, service is attentive. Can't recommend it highly enough and look forward to visiting again.

Much more affordable than I thought it would be based on previous reviews. With sharing plates, you don’t need to break the bank! Two of us ordered 4 plates = $63. Very affordable and very authentic. Having spent a lot of time in Spain, this food is the real deal. Do yourself a favour! Homemade Sangria on offer too.

Service is OK, setting has genuine ambience, and food is great. They select several wine choices in the $40 region which are really quite good.

Bar service is always a bit slow, otherwise would have scored higher for service.

Amazing food, atmosphere and staff incredibly friendly. This is our second time and it ws even better than the first! The octopus in the caper sauce was incredible and the mixed paella was stuffed full of seafood and so good! Will definitely be back again

About the restaurant

Flamenco Flair

Candlelit tables plus flamenco dancers adorning the walls—what more could you want in Spanish restaurant? Sophisticated yet casual, this romantic gem in Ascot Vale boasts a friendly atmosphere that will transport you to another continent. Andres and Ruth Ruiz-Mesa, the husband-and-wife-team running the show, deliver seasonal comfort food that is traditionally cooked paired with a wide selection of wines. And when it comes to the food, Arcadia Gastronomique isn’t shy about portion sizes, making it a great place for groups to share a bite and a tipple. Quench your thirst with some Sangria before perusing the tapas selections. The salmon carpaccio is mouth-wateringly good, and the haloumi cheese is a local favourite, too. For the main, try the chicken and chorizo paella. For the more adventurous, there’s black paella in squid ink, too. Save some room for dessert when you’re here. The choices are equally difficult, making it essential to pay another visit.
