A great venue for a special night out..... The food was creative, fresh and interesting....... enjoyed the 7 courses and size wise it was fine and well paced throughout the evening. Wait and wine staff were busy but attentive.

Food and service is absolutely amazing! Thank you for bringing back some of the classic dishes. Had the pasta and hapuka - definitely recommend -both were delicious and the dessert was absolutely divine! Hopefully I can go once more before the “on the fly” menu disappears!

We tried the 7 courses tasting menu. We were impressed by at least 5 of them so very good.

We had the 7 course degustation with the supplementary cheese platter! What a beautifully created menu! We really enjoyed this. The food and cocktails were amazing!!! The chef even made time to talk to us at the end of the night. All the staff were so helpful and knowledgeable. We can’t wait to go back!

Absolutely fantastic. We had the ‘on the fly’ menu which was three courses with beverage pairing. Great sommelier/waiter who explained the food and matched them with perfect wines. Totally exceeded my expectations and I want to come back and try the bigger degustation menu. We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. It was bucketing with rain outside and the lunch couldn’t have been more perfect.

The food was amazing and they were able to give me gluten free with no drama at all. Service was impeccable. Lovely matched wines. Really an excellent long lunch.

About Automata

Flooring it! The guys at Automata have got their foot on the gasl and there’s no sign of them stopping. Ex Momofuku sous chef Clayton Wells has kept his new restaurant venture well under wraps but now it's open and ready to serve. This is Wells' first solo restaurant and he brings a movable approach to a frequently changing Mod-Oz/European style five-course menu. The food is a reflection of the dining room which exerts a sense of freedom and energy that's addictive. Come and experience this new Chippo sensation. Best dish: come and decide for yourself!
