Unfortunately the Aviary has changed management and the food choice is limited and too expensive for what you get. It’s not special like it used to be

Great unassuming little gem in Richmond that is good for any time of day and any day of the week. Fun vibe. Cool venue. Good menu and drinks list. Really enjoyed the evening and will go back for a weekend lunch.

My friend and I went on $12 burger night. I thought there might be a bigger list than the 4 on the menu, there wasn't. Its a choice of beef, chicken, fish or mushroom. They are all $12 to $14 anyway so not a big saving, you get a free house wine which was described as "not a sav blanc but similar" or one Ale beer chosen by the Aviary. I had the chicken burger, it was lovely but the coleslaw inside had CORIANDER!! My friend had beef and said it was delicious. We shared a bowl of chips which were pretty standard. Our waitress was lovely and the meal was fast. All in all I wouldn't hurry back there but I wouldn't say no to going back and trying the beef burger!

Good meals, burgers are great value. Good drinks variety with beers and wines to chose from. Music is quite loud so not for quite conversation , but friendly and fun atmosphere

About Aviary Hotel

Not just for the Birds Among the Vietnamese restaurants of Abbotsford’s Victoria Street, Aviary Hotel provides a modern Australian alternative. The high ceilinged dining hall is awe-inspiring with its stained glass arches. There’s got cushiony booths with yellow leather and a glistening bar that’s just chock full of tantalising liquors. The Aviary is as pretty as a birdcage! Here the menu is minimalistic, and that’s the way we like it. With fewer things on it, the better they get done, right? Mediterranean foods take centre stage. With oysters, olives and panzanella to share. Then there are worldlier and reinterpreted numbers like the delicious pan-fried gnocchi and creamy chicken confit. And if you react anything like we did, the sweets on the dessert menu will simply wow you. What’s not to love about apple baklava cleverly matched with pistachio ice cream and candied pecans? Or the durian parfait with kaffir lime syrup? The Aviary Hotel is a stunning choice for delicious food and stylish dining. Best dish: pan fried gnocchi
