My third visit to Bacash and it keeps getting better. Sensational food, fantastic wine and the most sincerely warm, relaxed, unpretentious yet totally spot-on service. The experience is akin to going to a friends place for a meal - except that your friend happens to cook the best seafood in Melbourne. Love this place!

Food was ok although expensive for serving size. Wine list was incredibly expensive and Australian red wine selection especially narrow. Generally over priced.

I have been to this restaurant quite a few times. The wait staff are rushing a bit. There is some abruptness in their service.

Great place for grilled fish lovers. Whiting varieties at its best!

Every time I visit, I always have the Lebanese Fish and it never disappoints. Fiona's wine list is consistently interesting. Great destination for both business and a date with your partner.

The fish is sublime! Had flounder for main- the best! Perfectly cooked. The quality of the ingredients shone through. Haven't been in a while but it maintains its excellent standard. Great nori roll to start and the buttermilk pannacotta was a really nice and clean way to finish the night. Had a really nice glass of sparkling and Riesling as well. Will be back! To be recommended for fish lovers.

This is a great restaurant. Food & service are excellent and they have a stupendous (and costly!) wine list. I know I'll be back and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes seafood, especially.

Swimmingly Good Seafood

What’s in a name? In this case, everything. Owner-chef Michael Bacash has more than 30 years of experience working wonders with food, particularly seafood. At Bacash Restaurant in South Yarra you’ll find a modern, clean aesthetic and food that is precise without being fussy. In between courses, savour the views of the Domain and Royal Botanic Gardens outside the huge windows. And don’t be shy when it comes to asking the staff for a recommendation on food or wine. They have a wealth of knowledge and are more than happy to share it. If you aren’t a huge seafood fan, Bacash is the place that just might convert you. From whole flounder to spaghetti marinara overflowing with prawns, mussels, calamari and juicy seasonal fish, the choices aren’t easy.
