Massimo Speroni

Massimo Speroni joined the Bacchus team direct from the 2 Michelin-starred restaurant San Domenico in Italy, working with owner-chef Valentino Marcattilii. After gaining experience in multiple Michelin-starred restaurants worldwide, Massimo travelled to Australia and worked for numerous leading Sydney Restaurants. After falling in love with SEQ during a restaurant opening, the offer to take the lead at one of Brisbane’s leading fine dining restaurants was exactly the position he was waiting for.

We have given '10' for value based on getting out food 50% off. This was exceptional value. The food warrants the full price, but we are unlikely to spend that much on dinner unless it's a very special occasion. We absolutely loved this place though, and would definitely recommend and go again. It was a very special treat.

We had the 2 cuts of 9+ Wagyu we tried these as we had the Fork 50% off food deal. Both were special and very tasty. I preferred the Scotch Fillet personally although appreciated the Spinials cut which was very good. Nice to be able to compare both cuts. Partner had the Foie Gras for entree which was rich but heavenly. The steak Tartare was excellent too although I expected a bigger serve as it is usually more stacked - however enjoyed every mouthful. Will definantly be back again.

I will start off with the positives from by Breakfast Buffet experience. Staff were exceptional, Pete was the one I interacted with the most, top bloke who makes a great hot chocolate. Food quality was really good, but there just wasn't enough for the price I paid compared to other posh restaurants I have visited. I probably would have said this was the greatest buffet ever had I not been to others similar to this. $41 is what I paid, I paid $39 for the Breakfast Buffet at Thyme2 at Sofitel and that buffet was twice the size and because of that they could offer twice the amount of food and variety. Because of my past experiences I expected more, maybe my expectation VS reality meter was set too high, I don't know but either way I give this place thumbs in the middle. I definitely won't give it a thumbs down because of the quality of staff and food.

On our experience at Bacchus we each ordered an entree, a main, a dessert and two cocktails. Everything tasted divine and overall it was a great experience all round. - The service was amazing. Our waitress regularly checked in on our dining experience and was very nice and polite. She knew the menu items well and was able to assist in making meal decisions. - The Food and drinks were delicious and plentiful. For a fairly small menu there seemed to be no shortage of options. Special mention to the crocodile and emu dishes, both were exceptional and are a must try. We definitely left satisfied with the amount of food we had. - The meals were presented beautifully on the plate. It seemed like a lot of time and effort had been spent in perfected each dish. The desserts in particular looked amazing and cannot be described in words alone. - The time between meals was enough that you didn't feel like you were being rushed or wait so long that you became hungry. - The decor was elegant and reflected the quality of the restaurant. I would highly recommend Bacchus as a must try restaurant and it will certainly be on my list of places to revisit in the future.
