Very nice lunch and coffee, but the Sticky Date Pudding was the best I've ever had! Good atmosphere. Friendly staff. Waiting times were acceptable.

We were visiting the area and chose Barenz after seeing some good reviews. We enjoyed some of the Hope Pale Ale and had a great meal of prawn & chorizo linguine which was smoky in flavour with well cooked and tasty prawns. We also had 2 pizzas, a supreme & half peri peri chicken/prawn which were both fresh & delicious. We also had a pear salad & Caesar salad which were very nice. The service from our waiter was a little clumsy but otherwise our food & drinks were delicious & we would definitely go back.

Service is so good, couldn’t be better. Nothing is too much trouble. Everyone is so friendly, helpful and welcoming. Food is really good too. Happy hour cocktails are the best!

While the food was good unfortunately it was let down by the service. We were halfway through our entree when our mains suddenly appeared. Also, if you offer cocktails please learn how to make them properly. The martini we ordered was not well made.

This restaurant turns into a nightclub on Saturday so we basically had to scream at each other to have a conversation. Unfortunately this ruined the place for me. They should call it a nightclub, at least for certain nights of the week and then people would know what to except. Food was yum though and the service was pretty good.

Made a booking for breakfast - got to the restaurant and we were just told to sit wherever we wanted - we still had to move tables together as we had booked for 6 people and there were no 6 seater tables set up. We waited for an hour for our breakfast and the restaurant was not busy at all.

Far too noisy !!! Function area cordoned off right beside our table for 4 and we could not hear ourselves speak. They have seperate function areas out the back and I think they should keep functions to those areas and not beside the inside diners! Also lighting is very dark and bleak wouldn’t call it mood or romantic!

About the restaurant

Who needs Barcelona when you’ve got Barenz? This Camden eatery is the perfect cure for your Spanish addiction. The impressive tapas bar is spread across two levels, with an additional alfresco dining space at the rear, perfect for long summer evenings or a private functioin. Inside, the restaurant is an amber coloured glow and the large bar takes centre stage. Sink down into one of the comfy couches lining the walls and prepare for a taste-full journey. If you’re in the mood for tapas try the seared scallops and chorizo or the lemon infused salt and pepper calamari. Don’t worry if you need something more substantial, there are also pizza and pasta dishes on offer. This place can get pretty busy in the evenings so make sure you book ahead. Best dish: 16 hour slow cooked lamb shoulder
