Good tasty breakfast, nice large restaurant , decorated nicely, but slow service. Was quiet til a large group appeared and then a problem with the internet when paying.

The food here is really good - pizzas are mouth watering and baby octopus was the best I’ve ever had. All our mains were great, although a little pricey given you have to order sides as well. Loved this place and would come back again. Service needs some attention. Waiters were very friendly but seemed to lack experience in attention to detail eg: our mains came out and our entree plates hadn’t been cleared. Had to wave down waiters for a drink, etc, but nothing that can’t be improved easily. Look forward to dining here again.

The space is fantastic and the staff were attentive and helpful. Unfortunately many menu items were not available ( pizzas) due to it being lunchtime, which was disappointing. However the food we did get ( Pork chop, pasta and salad) was really good, arrived promptly and was super fresh . I think once the space becomes more popular then this will be a great spot in the heart of the city

Great atmosphere to catchup with friends, has a lovely relaxed but stylish vibe. Service was prompt and friendly and pizza was great. Wine list is very expensive though.

First of all, the food is really good. But even though we booked for a la carte the first waiter told us for a group our size we had to use the set menu. Incorrect because the website said that we needed to have 10 people or more before that was compulsory. Very cheeky. Another table nearby was also in the same situation and were only given the a la carte menu when they threatened to go to Gusman. So stick to your guns if you don’t want to have the set menu. Not everyone enjoys gorging themselves on a night out

Cute vibe and atmosphere. Unfortunately we waited awhile for any service of food or drinks, food came out very slow and forgot things in the end and some wine choices were unavailable

First visit and we were impressed. Cuttlefish was a highlight as was the cabbage, which we ordered to accompany the pork cottoletta. A small wine list but we were happy with our Italian montapulciano, which was also available by the glass. With doors open in all directions it was chilly so bring a jacket. The hard surfaces and outside live music make it quite noisy but not too uncomfortable. We enjoyed it and we will return.

The food was good and tasted lovely, the sizes of the serves for the price was very disappointing, 1 flat bread was $10, increase the serving sizes to suit the prices, 2 small pieces of slow cooked lamb for $44, Sadly we will not return

Poor service, with little to no care menu explanation or check back. Pizza dough over fermented and very bitter. Potato on pizza raw and hardly any sausage. Real shame. Has potentual but needs serious work

There was so much food and full of flavour. Really nice pizza's the dough is so good! Once the staff have had a bit more practice it will be a great place all round. Will definitely be back to try some more items on the menu.

Mothers day breakfast.... Very disappointed. The tables were so close together that it was very cramped. There were menu items that weren't available as they had run out and the servings were appalling for the prices. Will not be going back.

We came to Basta for the first time for Mother’s Day breakfast. They had run out of mushrooms, the big breakfast & the mushroom focaccia. The service was terrible! It took over an hour for food to arrive. The meals were terrible! Extremely over priced and very poor presentation. One of the meals was Granola with fruit & coconut yoghurt for $14, it was 2 grapes cut in half, 1 strawberry cut in half & 3 blueberries with ordinary coconut yogurt and muesli which looked like it came straight from a packet. Never ever will I come here again. Service was pitiful. We asked for a highchair when booking, apparently there is only 1 highchair in the whole restaurant.

You should have an option for people to tick if they want an indoor seat. We asked if we could sit inside and were told we needed to sit outside on a very cold night because "other people had booked". I had a booking myself which I had made several days earlier, and there were a lot of indoor seats available when we arrived. When I had left the restaurant there were still several empty seats inside which had not been used at all during the time we were there. And the heaters outside are not warm enough for a winter night.

The worst dining experience we have ever had and we didn’t even get to try the food (or water). No one served us for 50min, staff constantly walked passed and ignored our attempts to get their attention. Did not get any menus until someone walked up to the bar to get a random menu. Was not even offered water. Patrons who were sat after us were served before us. We walked out at 7:50 to go to another restaurant. Our reservation was for 7pm.

What a great addition to Wollongong’s restaurants! Great service, excellent food, great atmosphere and an interesting wine list. Highly recommend for a night out. Take a few friends and share because you’ll want to try everything!

The restaurant itself is in a great location and had a really good vibe. We did wait a while for service and our food took ages, but it was good quality once we got it. The staff acknowledged our wait time and offered our table complementary bread and dessert which was appreciated. Some Improvements are needed however I would return back
