A very good restaurant. With the deal of TheFork, it was a good value. We will be back again.

The atmosphere was lacking warmth, however the only waitress in the restaurant did her best
Thanks from the only waitress, the only chef and the only kitchen hand working last night. Small team, but very efficient. We hope to see you again soon.

We dined here on a busy Friday night as part of the Fork Festival. The restaurant is cosy and had a nice mood to it. The staff are relaxed and friendly but professional. We got the feed me and we were pleasantly surprised by the food. We started with sourdough bread, a thinly sliced meat and arancini which were all delicious. The pasta course was disappointing, gnocchi Nduja & Burrata but the chicken main (Pollo Funghi) made up for it. Beautifully succulent chicken, cooked to perfection and accompanied with delicious crispy roast potatoes and broccoli. By this stage we were stuffed but managed to demolish delicious cannoli to finish. Overall a great meal, would definitely be back to explore the menu a bit further.

We celebrated our anniversary here well worth the drive into town. And we weren’t disappointed! Cocktails were to die for. Food was absolutely delicious! Couldn’t fault on the service. Will be back again.

The restaurant was quite chilly, the food was varied, two people enjoyed their main course, two were disappointed. The selection of desserts was very limited, we were surprised that in the middle of winter there wasn't a hot dessert option which caused us to leave without ordering dessert. The waitress was very helpful and pleasant and the bread was great!

About Basta

Not too much, not too little! Basta is a new Italian restaurant concept in Fitzroy established by the owners of Casa Ciuccio. The word Basta means ‘enough’ – and talks to the ethos and mantra of Basta of creating and serving delicious food from simple, yet delicious handmade pasta and fresh locally sourced produce. Not too little, not too much, just enough. The menu includes everything from delicate antipasti to hearty pasta dishes and rich meats like porchetta and Gippsland grass fed flank steak! Best dish: squid ink gnocchi with mussels, prawn, squid and smoked tomato sugo.
