Beach Almond was recommended by some locals and there were spot on! A very warm welcome, amazing food and great service. A must try in Palm Cove, we will be back for sure!
The food was great. The restaurant was empty, but the setting was lovely. However, we ordered cocktails from the cocktail menu and they were woeful. The Mai Tai only had rum and came in a whiskey glass - no grenadine, pineapple or orange juice etc. When we enquired, the waiter had no idea what we were talking about and made no effort to correct the drink. The Margarita was equally as horrible! Although the waiter was nice, he had no boundaries and no idea about restaurant etiquette or how to wait tables - amongst other things, he removed my partner's plate way before I was finished. Also, he took it upon himself to come and join us, asking us about ourselves etc. and although friendly, he seemed unaware that we just wanted a nice romantic dinner without a third party standing talking to us and a couple of times we had to say something, although he did not really get the hint! Although the food was good, it was extremely expensive and one would have to weigh up the woeful cocktails and lack of privacy throughout the meal to ask if it was worth it.
We have eaten here previously, years ago, and enjoyed a beautiful meal, however, the New Year’s Eve set menu ($129) was very disappointing. The entree was very nice, but the main, Thai chicken, lacked flavour and featured skin, fat and bits of bone and gristle. The dessert also lacked flavour.
The food never disappoints at Beach Almond. Our favorites is the whole fish and the black pepper prawns. Will be back again soon!
A great location with a fantastic Asian fusion meals. Staff where friendly and attentive, able to answer questions around all aspects of the menu. The whole fish with Vietnamese sauce was Devine.
My daughter and I had a lovely evening at Beach Almond at the end of October. The staff were very helpful and the food delicious. We started with Scallops, then Singapore crab and the most divine Lime Creme Brûlée. Rest assured it will not be our last booking at this Restaurant.
My daughter and I spent our last night at Beach Almond after a few days in FNQ. The Singapore mud crab was very tasty as was the scallops in betel leaf and dessert. The staff were exceptionally helpful. We will be back.
We discovered this restaurant 3 years ago and look forward to coming back every time we come to Palm Cove. Delicious food, casual atmosphere - a must if you love seafood. We always have the pepper prawns, whole fish and egg net salad.
Amazing food, we had the pork belly, soft shell crab, butter prawns and pepper prawns, all were amazing! Beautiful view of the sunset
Drinks came after our entree was served. Had to ask for water. Main courses good.
Delicious fresh flavours, would definitely recommend to friends
Staff and food all spot on for our group of 6
Fabulous service & delicious food. Had a wonderful view of the beach. Nice & quiet.
Thank you for delicious food??
If you like mussels, this dish is superb. Largest mussels I have ever seen. Prepared beautifully.
Great food, very relaxed atmosphere
Always yummy food and friendly staff
Staff very friendly & helpful with both the food & wine menus.
The food is good, but the delivery is painfully slow. they ran out of their star dish - crab. And the wine list is boring.
terrible food,, entrees were shockers, with my wife's allergies, she falls back on pork belly often and this example was the worst ever. Can't say anything good about the experience.
