You must have the prawns, to die for. Barramundi in banana leaf is small but delicious. Desserts are not traditional Asian and they are excellent.

Atmosphere and location produce a true local experience, combined with a really good kitchen who focus on quality. Banana leaf Barramundi and the whole fish, grilled and then quickly deep fried, are standouts in an interesting menu. Service was informed, polite and timely.

Ok food for tourist destination, would not compete in a major city. Too rigid and inflexible re menu i.e numbers for sharing, how to divide 3 by 2.

Similar accompaniments (pre-prepared salad) with both our starter and main dishes is not what we expect at a restaurant at this market point. Also the unnecessarily long and detailed debate between a waiter and the customer at the next table about the quality of their dishes compared to last time and who was cooking in the kitchen is similarly inconsistent with a restaurant achieving high online ratings.A well trained waiter would politely thank the customer for the feedback which would be passed on and say for example that food quality should be seamless and not depend on who is in the kitchen on a particular day.

About Beach Almond

Tropical delights Featuring fresh and healthy Modern Asian cuisine, prepared by passionate chefs, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere this is the ideal spot for a shared meal with family and friends. The menu features modern Thai, Malay, Singaporean flavours and the restaurant itself is housed in what is perhaps the oldest beach house on Williams Esplanade. The old beach house opens out onto a magnificent covered long deck that stretches out to the Coral Sea, Great Barrier Reef. (It’s actually modelled on a “Long House” that you would find in Lombok, next to Bali). Whether you want a full blown feast of Beach Almond Chilli Crab, succulently barbecued seafood catch or a healthy salad, Beach Almond restaurant and bar’s bounty of culinary alternatives provide delightful dining experiences for all. Best dish: banana leaf barramundi char grilled with dipping sauce.
