I booked this restaurant because of the reviews on Dimmi and was glad that we went. Was hubby's birthday. The service was exceptional, the wine list was extensive and we had a beautiful bottle of Italian Cab Sav that went with our lovely food. Then a surprise rendition of "Happy Birthday " was sung to my husband with his dessert. Thank you Beppi's.

Excellent food and wine

The service and food were excellent. My colleague and I spent close to $80 each for sparkling water, a main course and coffee. I think this is expensive and I am not complaining. I am just giving you my opinion.

About Beppi's

Can’t go wrong with Beppi’s In trend-conscious Sydney where openings (and closings) happen weekly, when a restaurant clocks up a whopping half century of operation (and then some) Polese you know they must be doing something right. It all comes down to the vision and passion of Beppi, who is credited with introducing Australians to classic Italian dishes and who lends his name to the eponymous Beppi’s Darlinghurst. It’s no wonder words like ‘iconic’, ‘classic’ and ‘timeless’ are used to described the elegant interiors and traditional menu which is not trying to impress with fussy fusion fads – classic Italian dishes are what it’s all about. Carpaccio di Manzo (fillet of raw beef thinly sliced with rocket, celeriac & horseradish cream & shaved parmesan), home grown zucchini flowers with ricotta, basil & porcini mushroom filling, Italian cured prosciutto Friulano di San Daniele with seasonal fruit are the order of the day –everything chosen and presented with care. The veal fillet grilled & served with truffled butter, porcini mushrooms & potatoes roasted in duck fat is not for the faint-hearted – and the prices, while not the most expensive in Sydney, generally make this a special occasion venue rather than a Thursday night can’t-be-bothered-to-cook dining option. Timber floors, crisp white linen tablecloths and napkins, warm lighting and house made bread complete the scene and we can recommend finishing (assuming you have room) with the Tiramisu’all Beppi’s made with zabaglione al marsala e brandy. For an authentic Italian dining experience and a slice of Sydney dining history, Beppi’s is a great place to bring your mum for her 80th or your better half for an impressive anniversary dinner. Best dish: Vitello tonnato
