The pate starter with masala jelly is amazing. We had the Sunday roast special which was good value, but not the best roast I’ve had. The banana parfait dessert was pretty good. I like the fact you can buy wine by the half bottle.

So impressed by the service - absolutely first class. Food was beautiful and plentiful. Loved the Rhubarb Pavlova - best Pav I’ve eaten. Will definitely be back. Thank you for a great experience

The best wagyu beef brisket I have ever had!

All round a great experience. Good value on the set menus. Great location. Food was delicious (despite being given the wrong dessert, but it looked so good I didn’t want to give it up).

Small but delicious menu, perfect for an impromptu lunch on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Nice cocktails.

Delicious meal! Great service - didn’t have a cocktail menu but was able to make us a martini!

Great value food, that is top notch. The "Jock's choice" option was fantastic, and we struggled to get through it. Wine was also reasonably priced. Service was first rate.

Uninspiring wine list with 200% mark up on retail price is pretty archaic. The food was enjoyable at times, particularly the brisket, but again didnt seem to match the incredible imagination of its mother restaurant Orana. Perhaps we came with too high expectations, but the experience felt cynical at times. The liver parfait was unreal though.

We'd been here before and had a great time, amazing food, great service, stayed until late having cocktails at the bar. This time was different. Our booking was for 6:30. We arrived a 6:45 with good friends hoping to have a lovely evening. We were immediately told we'd have to be "done and dusted" by 8:15. 2 very nice young waitresses who looked over worked and harried. Drinks too ages to arrive, 2 of our side plates didn't arrive, Bread arrived at the end of the meal. Being reminded to eat up as we needed to be ou of there by no later than 8:20 Obviously no time for dessert and coffee. The food was nice. Overall a very disappointing experience. What happened to this place. Plenty of other good restaurants in town. Best avoid this one.

About Bistro Blackwood

Bistro Blackwood is Jock Zonfrillo’s lively bistro located in the east end of Adelaide’s CBD, and is the sibling of Restaurant Orana. It serves a seasonally evolving menu with daily specials drawing from the same indigenous ingredients and techniques that are brought to life at Orana. It’s the same style, but more approachable. Bistro Blackwood is a project for the Orana team, a space for the chefs to be creative and use seasonal ingredients from local organic farmers and suppliers, or what their forager has discovered that day. The menu includes bistro classics alongside a punchy local-leaning wine list with an emphasis on lo-fi producers. Guests wanting to splash out beyond the 40-bottle list can order off Restaurant Orana’s 400-bottle spread.
