The food here is delicious and you can’t find better Butter Chicken in Canberra! The staff were friendly, helpful and cheerful. I recommend Blu Ginger highly.
The menu is extensive, I am Coeliac and don’t eat meat, and I was spoilt for choice. Our table of four all ordered a main to share and while they were all creamy, they all tasted a style different! The meals are very large and next time we go we won’t order as much! The cocktails were yummy too!
Very tasty and interesting modern Indian food - including some street food options that we'd never encountered before, even in India! Strongly recommended if you are looking for Indian food that is out of the ordinary.
Lovely food, friendly staff. Always a great experience. Reasonably priced. Located in a nice part of the city, lots of options for after dinner coffee.
Best Indian food I’ve had in Canberra - probably the best Indian food I’ve had outside of India. Really great menu. Lovely staff and very welcoming of kids.
Delicious banquet option with plenty of food. Will definitely return!
The food was amazing and the staff very friendly !
Everytime the door opened we were blasted with cold air - Made for a unenjoyable meal
Efficient, polite service. Delicious food with generous servings. Good atmosphere. Return visit from out -of-towners.
the range ,from traditional to street food fav's ,provided something for everyone's tastes. Portion size was adequate to ensure a filling experience and ensure everyone enjoyed each dish/offering I regard the Blu as amongst ,if not the best, Indian in Canberra at the moment
Plus: + The food is tasty (we had Chicken momo, butter chicken, beef curry, railway goat curry, cheese&butter naan, ricex4) + quite friendly staff Minus: + Waiting time is long (we arrive just after 6, and got our starter (1 dish) at around 6.40 @@) + Naan bread is small with that price
Never fails to disappoint with the food - absolutely amazing. The space itself is rather stark with not much atmosphere. Perhaps some Indian candle holders or similar on the table, and some big pictures on the walls or something just to make it a little more homely.
Excellent, tasty and delicious food. Loved the spices. Generous serve size too. I would revisit again !!
Good food but felt they wanted us out as soon as we finished our Mains, we got the Bill even we did not Ask for it and was about to order dessert. That felt not so service minded
Covid social distancing makes running a restaurant more difficult. We had to wait half an hour for our table even though we booked well in advance, our host was kind enough to give us a couple of free drinks as compensation.
Food is fresh and plentiful. Banquet is great value for money. No one goes home hungry! Restaurant is clean and well located. Staff are friendly.
My husband had wanted to try this place for a while. Not disappointed. Very nice, prompt service and delicious food, generous portions. We will return
Great food and drinks. Good service.
Good food, good service
5 Genge St, 2601, Canberra (ACT), Australia, RestaurantAddress
Treat your taste buds to the culinary delights India has to offer at Blu Ginger. A brightly patterned feature wall, high ceilings and funky light fixtures add to the atmosphere of this Indian eatery. Located on 5 Genge Street, Canberra, pick a table in front of the glass wall overlooking the road – it’s a great people-watching spot as you eat.
Blu Ginger goes through great pains to pick the freshest, locally-sourced produce and combine it with imported, and authentic, spices from the sub-continent. The result? Some of the best Indian food you’ve ever sunk your teeth into. Families who have a hankering for upmarket Indian food or groups of friends will fit in nicely here.
Tender, smoky lamb cutlets take centre stage on the starters menu while a lentil and coconut vegetable kootu is mixed in a deliciously thick sauce that has a surprising kick to it. Don’t expect any bland chicken tikka masalas here either – mouther-wateringly creamy and peppered with capsicums is what you’ll get. Order fluffy garlic naan breads on the side and your stomachs will leave more than happy.
