The food is very nice. Our only complaint is that the entree we chose only had 3 pieces and we needed 4, so had to order 2 serves.

Great food with delectable flavors let down by poor service.

Service was prompt and ttentive. Table was reserved and we were served within 8 minutes of arrival in a rather busy restaurant. Seating was excellent with plenty of room between other chairs but close to other tables so we could hear others' conversations. The entree of button mushrooms was divine and thought this would carry through to the mains. My Goan Fish curry a perfect choice, tender and plenty of sauce for the saffrom rice but my partner's vindaloo, the beef too dry. Perhaps you could use marbled or wagyu beef to maintain flavour and moisture in the beef. No room for dessert, literally and in terms of total price, $106 for the dinner which included a fine bottle of WA Shiraz. Best for familiy reunions or parties than a quick economical meal for 2.

About Blu Ginger

Treat your taste buds to the culinary delights India has to offer at Blu Ginger. A brightly patterned feature wall, high ceilings and funky light fixtures add to the atmosphere of this Indian eatery. Located on 5 Genge Street, Canberra, pick a table in front of the glass wall overlooking the road – it’s a great people-watching spot as you eat. Blu Ginger goes through great pains to pick the freshest, locally-sourced produce and combine it with imported, and authentic, spices from the sub-continent. The result? Some of the best Indian food you’ve ever sunk your teeth into. Families who have a hankering for upmarket Indian food or groups of friends will fit in nicely here. Tender, smoky lamb cutlets take centre stage on the starters menu while a lentil and coconut vegetable kootu is mixed in a deliciously thick sauce that has a surprising kick to it. Don’t expect any bland chicken tikka masalas here either – mouther-wateringly creamy and peppered with capsicums is what you’ll get. Order fluffy garlic naan breads on the side and your stomachs will leave more than happy.
