Its changed since the update and I rather like the old place with the booths.

Fresh oysters were a joy. Kingfish and accompaniments were excellent. Lemon meringue dessert was only OK. Good wine list, a little pricey Please bring back beef filet main option!

Boffins is one of those hidden Canberra destinations that only some of the locals know about, but love to share with friends.

Having been a customer of Boffins since the late 60s we have always found the food, the service, the intimate atmosphere to be impeccable. It is always a pleasure to have a meal at your restaurant. The more recent rearrangement of the seating has enhanced the comfort and general welcoming feel. We will be back!

My colleague and I had a fabulous 2 course lunch. The service was very good and the staff were very considerate and accommodating. The food was spectacular and neither of us could fault anything in the dishes. I will be recommending Boffins to all my friends and colleagues.

Great food. Portions are small but delicious. Staff were very polite and helpful if a little slow to see our hand up occasionally.

About Boffins

Boffins was extensively renovated in 2018 to provide a modern contemporary dining experience. Boffins at University House is the flagship restaurant with a focus on paddock to plate dining and serving the best of Canberra Region and Australian wines whilst showcasing artwork and sculpture from across the University. The bar also stocks a wide range of artisan spirits and local craft beers providing diners with a unique selection. Our chefs are in regular contact with our local farmers and suppliers and source food directly from farm gates where possible. Menus can change daily, based on supply and are ever evolving as our dedicated kitchen team works to display the produce on offer. Diners may select a la carte or try a 'feed me' menu and let the kitchen take them on a food journey.
