This restaurant is well located. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The food choice suited us and our expectations were met. We will go again.
Food was very tasty and service was good, but most serving sizes were minuscule (when you considered the price), especially as they were share plates. We had an enjoyable lunch, but they really need to increase the serving sizes when the suggestion is to share.
Absolutely amazing experience! The food is to die for and the staff were so helpful with serving suggestions. We had an earlier booking and staff were very attentive when we first arrived and food came out quickly. As the evening got on and the restaurant got busier service did slow down a little bit but we were warned about this and had ordered most of our food by then so we were fine, Would recommend coming in a bit earlier before it gets busy but the food is definitely worth the wait! Very fresh flavors and lovely options.
Good tasty food but the portions are tiny and so expensive. We spent over $300 and were still hungry. Just not really worth the high price tag sadly.
Fantastic location and legendary food. We were having a pre-Christmas gathering with friends and family and all 8 of us really enjoyed the evening.
Beautiful restaurant in a heritage building, brilliant service - so friendly and welcoming, and a bit of fun. And good food :)
Fantastic service and food. Wonderful atmosphere. Would definitely recommend it to friends and family.
The food was fantastic well done to the chef
The waiter James was fantastic he made the night very special and so much fun it was great
The Boilerhouse at Q is a real treat - an evocative setting and a great vibe in the space with delicious food (the gnocchi is absolutely delicious as is the panna cotta) and terrific service. James and Nasher were absolutely wonderful hosts and ambassadors each time I visited during my stay at Q. Can’t wait to be back.
James is an amazing server and ambassador, as was the host, whose name I did not catch. Food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was lovely.
An unexpectedly memorable evening. The food was consistently delicious. We got a bit carried away and kept ordering more and more. The staff were warm and willing. A fun night Forgotten how much we spent. Not clear at all
Food is fantastic however as the menu is made to share each plate was brought out at various different times and we were often left with either meat and no greens or greens and no meat. Would be better if plates where better paired and brought out with more thought. Waiter was very friendly but a few issues with drink orders but he did make up for it with a complimentary drink. The venue is fab and it’s an adventure going down the hill through the old Q station grounds. Beautiful view of the harbour for a pre or post dinner walk. Definitely worth a visit. Very different to anything else on the northern beaches.
Fantastic menu with every dish one I would be happy to try. Good sizes for eating individually but also well portioned for sharing. The wagyu beef was outstanding (second time I’ve had it), the crab in betel leaf and charred broccolini were also delicious. The barramundi was nice but there was a fin bone in it and apart from the yummy green mango puree it wasn’t a stand out. The smoked chocolate parfait was yummy but could do with resting a bit before serving as it was rock hard and you could hear the crack of spoons against the plates around the restaurant as people tried to dig in to it! The caramelised pineapple and whipped coconut cream pavlova was sensational. Last time I was there they had a brilliant Brussels spouts dish on the menu but coming into summer it was not on the menu this time. When dining in winter, I highly recommend ordering it. Service was relaxed and friendly and we didn’t have to wait too long between dishes. It would have been nice for the table to be wiped down before dessert came as we had a few blobs of food on the table that were fine when sharing dishes but once we had our own plates, the centre was empty and showed up the large blobs. Just a small attention to detail that would have been appreciated. The unlimited refills on the large $9 sparkling water was a nice surprise and the wait staff refilled our glasses and bottle regularly. Worth noting there is no disability access to the dining level upstairs. There may be an option to eat downstairs if needed but as it is, the stairs may be difficult or impossible for some. It was interesting being able to see in to the kitchen while we waited for our food, however it was a bit uncomfortable to witness arguments between the cooking staff.
Definitely a unique experience, exceptional service and we thoroughly enjoyed the food!
Amazing food, loved every dish
Very enjoyable dinner and tasty menu selection. Lovely waiters and great atmosphere.
Very disappointing birthday lunch for 6 (5 of us women). We chose to share different dishes but the food portions while nicely presented, were miniscule. Could have kept ordering but decided it would be more of the same, so we left and picked up take away. Have never walked out of a restaurant and needed to buy another meal. Restaurant nearly empty (now we understand why) but they seated the only couple who arrived after us right next to us - squashed and intrusive! Service so so. Our waitress disappeared and didn't return so we had to collect our own water jug. The historical significance of the place is fascinating, and the views are lovely, but they need to greatly improve the dining experience - it was certainly not worth it.
The food is beautiful set in the historical venue QStation, Manly!
It was lovely enough, but nothing wowed us for the price. Beautiful location.
