Bondi Hardware never disappoints. The artichoke dip was a standout as usual and so were the cocktails. And service was great as well - friendly and effecient.

This is an awesome little restaurant. The menu and quality of the food offers a great variety of delicious fare. The building has a rustic appeal and the wait staff are friendly and attentive. Sunday night there is live music, they played a popular range of music. It’s a little noisy if you wanted an intimate dinner, great for small groups of friends looking for good food and a fun time.

Always really delicious food, but it is a bit over priced. Also a bit weird that we were only allowed to have our wine (the bottle that we ordered) in the small wine glasses - when I asked if we could have the larger glasses (that I could see behind the bar) I was told that I couldn't have wine in those glasses, as they are for different drinks. Makes no sense to me.

I’ve been here on numerous occasions but just for drinks. This was my first time eating here and the food was amazing. We slightly over ordered but had to eat everything because it was so good! Friendly attentive service and a cosy, relaxed vibe. Loved it so much we went back for brunch the following weekend which was also great. Highly recommend!

Nice food but could not see it without using the torch on our mobile phones. Too noisy to enjoy conversation without raised voices. Dreadfully slow drink service - 25 minutes to get the drinks ordered. All this when paying a 15% surcharge for public holiday service.

About the restaurant

The new DIY…

Converted from hardware store to bar, Bondi Hardware (… ah we see what they did there) is a trendy spot where Bondi locals come to unwind. The décor, inspired by its namesake, features exposed brick walls, wooden panelling and displays of old tools. The menus too are in theme, written on graph paper with hardware imagery and fixed to wooden boards. Suitable for any time of the day, the menu includes salads, pizzas, sliders and sharing dishes. And to drink? There’s a great selection of local beers and ciders, local and international wines, cocktails. Our favourite is the Garden Party: Blueberry infused Beefeater Gin, elderflower liqueur, basil, lemon, vanilla and rhubarb bitters (YUM!).

Rows of long benches and high tables line the dining space, plus window seats and a couple of tables out the front provide the perfect spot for people watching. As the weather warms up, head out the back to the courtyard space, where umbrellas provide shade, and lights twinkle in the evening.

Best Dish: Crispy lamb salad with hummus, feta, Israeli couscous, pear and mint yoghurt
