Melbourne Cup Day saw our plans change dramatically and the team at Stamford Plaza ensured we did not miss out what so ever. It was my sisters 50th and they spoilt her, and us, immensley. Carol our hostess was AMAZING and Manager Sagar was beyond incredible indeed. We truly recommend the team at Stamford Plaza to all. Definitely will return.
Absolutely beautiful seafood.
The high tea was fine but the service could have been better. Had to wave to the staff everytime we needed something and noone was there to greet us upon arrival either which is a bit disappointing when you bring a group of 5 people. Also, the staff did nothing about the birds that were flying around landing on the food trays and guests.
Always a great spot
Great food and a very scenic location
Food was great ( had seafood buffet) but service left a lot to be desired. The basics are not there. Empty salt and pepper shakers, seldom clearing of plates, dirty tables surfaces. It’s not party hard to get this right and it should be pretty straight forward in a five star hotel but it just wasn’t there. Our waiter was good when he turned up but he wasn’t nearly attentive enough. We had to ask for water refills and to get a heater near the table. Personally I was most disappointed in general with staff. It seemed difficult for everything. From the moment I arrived in the car park, the attendant didn’t know of the August parking offer, didn’t offer to park the car ( would have gladly paid for this service). It extended to wait staff when I asked to move tables because their was a large noisy crowd where we had been allocated a seat, wait staff seldom cleared tables, cashier didn’t know of parking offer and sent me to concierge who then sent me to reception to get parking ticket validated. Honestly there’s something a miss with this establishment in terms of staffing. Sad but true....it wasn’t particularly busy either. I won’t go back...there’s other offers around Brisbane and the GC that I will try next time.
It would have been nice to have a glass of champagne included in the price, as the bottles of wine/ champagne were vetry expensive. We also asked for table unobstructed view of the water as it was a special occasion, which I was told was organised when they rang to confirm. However we were seated behind a table with young children which was very disappointing.
Great seafood. Fresh and very tasty. Roasts and dessert very fantastic. Huge variety. Looking forward to our next visit.
Great Sunday afternoon spent here. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys buffet style meals. Staff attentive without being overly close.
Good environment, service and food
The morning high tea was great. Some background music would have been lovely. Also, we weren't presented with a bill so we accidentally walked out without paying and had to ring back later to cover payment. The staff seemed distracted with setup by this stage.
Food selection was amazing
Lovely location great food
A big thank you to the staff for making our anniversary (50 years married) memorable by bringing out a special plate of sweets.
Very good place for dining.
We shouted our mother a High Tea at Brasserie on the River for her 80th birthday on Tuesday. Beautiful setting, fabulous hospitality and friendly, courteous service. I was extremely disappointed however in the high tea. The tea and coffee were lukewarm and the high tea treats were bland and tasted a day old. It was beautifully presented but the scones were dry. For $37 per person I did not feel it was value for money. I won't be recommending it to others unfortunately.
Over priced for a seafood buffet expected more seafood to pick from
I was really pleased that they were so accommodating with my request and set out to make my mum's birthday a little extra special. Very nice.
Beautiful outlook on the river. At $75, the seafood buffet (evening) is a bit expensive but well worth the investment for a special occasion. Buffet breakfast is excellent and reasonably priced. Delicious food, with a variety of options. Awesome omelettes made-to-order.
Seafood was great but the diversity & quality of other buffet options was lacking. Service was somewhat hit and miss across the night. E.g. We received no introduction to the buffet - just seated and had to figure it out. I used to think this was one of Brisbane's top Buffets but feel standards have fallen and will likely be looking elsewhere next time.
