Creative take on Indian food that mostly hits the mark. Level of service is excellent. Duck starter was superb. Desserts slightly on the small side. Recommended.

Absolutely loved the interior and staff were super friendly. The food was alright...the gunpowder cauliflower and chai creme brûlée were good but everything else was very mediocre. The crusted kingfish was dry and pretty bland, same with the tandoori chicken spring ro
Hi Steph, I'm so sorry you didn't enjoy the food at Brick Lane. I'd love to find out a bit more about what you ordered and which dishes you felt needed more flavour so I can give the kitchen feedback. I'm so sorry the Kingfish and Spring Rolls didn't hit the mark for you, especially considering they are two dishes that our regulars love to order on repeat. If you would be happy to chat, please feel free to contact me here: kiran@brick-lane.com.au Thanks, Kiran

Food was greasy and not authentic Indian food. Would never recommend.

Reading the reviews and the prospect of Indian with a twist was really excited to be trying this place myself. Sadly I was very disappointed. Didn't taste the exotic flavours of Indian and for the dishes we chose their was little to suggest 'a twist'. On the advice of the maite d' who greeted us we opted for 2 lighter plates and 1 bigger plate to share. The 2 lighter plates were Scallops creviche and the Awesome Duckling. The former while generous in size was smothered in a creamy sauce and lacked flavour. The latter redeemed the former, a delight to the senses. Those dishes were followed by the Mad Cow supposedly a 24 hour slow roasted beef dish that given the cooking process should have been falling apart. Sadly I struggled to cut it into 2. My half was tough and very difficult to cut with a knife, my friend's piece was more pliable. That said with 2 chillis next to its notation, neither of us felt that the sauce had little to say about itself ... relatively bland and flavourless. On the positive side and restaurant has been carefully curated and the atmosphere as a result very welcoming. Shame that the food does not live up to the hype. Overall a very disappointing experience

Lovely restaurant setup, attentive staff , I had a fantasric cocktail but the food let me down. Maybe we should have asked for suggestions but everything we ordered was deep fried. The samosa was really disappointing in that it was a piece of fish wrapped in pastry nothing like samosa pastry and very oily. I did like the spring roll. The chickpea chips tasted like falafels. We also had the bahn mi, veggie balls and the chicken tacos. If we had a curry then I might have gotten a hit of India. Lovely concept but I didn't get an Indian meal.
Hi Lynne, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. It's important that we hear the good, the bad and the ugly so we can tweak and adjust our offering accordingly. Looking at the selection of dishes you ordered I can see why the meal wasn't as balanced as I would have liked. It's certainly heavy on the fried foods. I'll be running a staff training session in the next fortnight and make sure we cover how to guide a guest on selecting a balanced and complimentary array of dishes so you get a mix of fresh and fried as well as fusion and classical cuisine. If you would like to give me any other feedback in person i'm always open to a chat over the phone. Please feel free to reach out should you wish. Many thanks Kiran

The food was very interesting, quite experimental. I think its because youre expecting modern indian food but its more indian inspired. Great to check out once but I might not go again.
