Excellent
Delightfully tasty and well presented entrees but a steak main was extremely disappointing. Cooked well but barely warm it was totally without flavour despite a healthy lashing of salt and quite chewy. It was little more than a cheap piece of yearling but charged at a high price. The menu potato accompaniment was not delivered. Boiled and fried potatoes don’t fool anyone. A great night planned undone by a slipshod meal. The other main ordered of lamb shoulder was very good, tasty and very well presented. A contrast in two mains.
The degustation dinner was excellent. Attentive service in a very pleasant restaurant. Each course was The smoked beetroot and rhubarb dish was a standout for us. Needless to say each course was enjoyable and a pleasure to taste. Would definitely visit again.
Great food. Degustation with matching wines was great. Service was excellent - nicely paced and portions about right. Quiet on a Tuesday nigh5 in the middle of a pandemic.
Dined @ Brisbane Street Bistro last night with my partner and had a wonderful experience. Everything was top notch from the interior design to the food and service and would highly recommend if you are ever in Launceston then make it must dine.
Lovely food, great setting, excellent service
Fantastic staff and ambiance. The food was just ok. The grilled king fish is good. But not the pate parfaits and lamb (both having overwhelming taste/smell).
Food was excellent. Imaginative and delicious. Good ambience but got too cold with air conditioning. Service was ok but more frequent water top up and better understanding of menu would have improved it.
We had big expectations and we were not disappointed. We had the degustation menu. Varied and interesting dishes with excellent Tasmanian wines. The waiter was very informative and pleasant. The decor is nice. The seats were comfy. We left happy and full. The only thing I would have liked is live French music. But this is obviously a fanciful wish.
We had the degustation menu and the variety and quality of the food was extremely high. Matching Tasmania wines pairing was very good. The restaurant was full so the service was efficient rather than outstanding. Would happily return when next in Launceston
What a disappointment! Our entrees were amazing, I had the pork belly croquettes and my husband had the pate, both very very good. We then both orderered the porterhouse and it really was so ordinary. The whole meal was cold, the potatoes hard and stodgy and the steak congealed and flavourless. I really wanted to enjoy it as we were so looking forward t our meal but alas no. The meal was, in fact, so cold that the blue cheese butter didn’t even melt. The onions rings were good. We didn’t order dessert as didn’t want to risk more disappointment.
Really just a lovely way to end a trip to Tasmania. Very unique and attentive waiter - Jamie! Was exceptional service. The food and produce was exquisite. I think it was very well priced for a Degustation menu. Would absolutely go back.
The Terrace House entrance was deceiving, as we entered to find an elegant atmosphere with welcoming and well informed staff. The food was outstanding with every single dish a delicious salute to local Tasmanian produce. A piece of art indeed. Congratulations to Sarah and her team, a great pleasure and a special experience for us. Andy & Kira from Adelaide.
It was a great meal, reasonably priced and served professionally. The only downside (outside of teh control of the venue) was other guests who competed to be the noisiest. You would hope that people are more respectful of others when they dine out at quality venues but sadly that is the young at heart and young at manners.
All dishes were perfectly prepared and taste very good. However, presenting a few slices of beetroot as a main dish and charge $36 for it is not exactly a show of appreciation for your customer.
The staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable of the restaurant dishes. Drinks reasonably priced. A small menu but the food was of excellent quality and presentation. Flavours, different and unusual.
Dinner last night at the Brisbane street bistro was fantastic from the start to the finish We would highly recommend this excellent bistro to everyone service with a smile and tremendous food to match
Lovely meal and ambience
Chose the restaurant because the menu sounded great and the pictures of the restaurant looked lovely. Our dinner and experience lived up to our expectations. Food was delicious and staff engaging. Would definitely recommend.
Great food and great service. Waiter was perfectly attentive, not too much but not so distant that you weren’t sure if he was there. Food was delicious!
Lovely little house ,the menu is very limited with 4 main course options . and no sparkling rose by the glass .The pate was very average extremely salty served with what looked like long thin doritos which there few of, had to ask for more so I could finish pate . The mains we had were good , would only advise to order the fish if your not hungry as it a very small piece , the steak was more generous, waitress was lovely and attentive. Would we go again probably not .

Best dish: smoked mussel and chorizo croquette, chilli pickled vegetables and saffron mayonnaise with a glass of Pinot Noir.
