Too limited choice from the lunch menu. Suggest to put more items to select.

The restaurant called me in the morning and told me that they'll have a big party and will be very noisy. Suggested I choose any other place. Such case has already happened three time in my history. The restaurant should aware while they have booked a big party and should not notify the customer at the last minute when I've already lined up with friends to come.

There were 4 of us and two of us ordered the spicy sticky chicken and two ordered the prawn tempura entree. We had to return the spicy sticky chicken as they were extremely extremely salty and told the waiting staff who went into the kitchen to tell the chef. The waiter then returned and took both our plates to the kitchen, and another waitress came out to advise that they’ve got someone to taste and agreed that it was salty. We were then asked to order another entrée each, which we did. Three of us ordered steak for our mains (two eye fillets and one striploin) that cost $45 each. The three steaks had sinew and cold, and guess what? Two mushroom and peppercorn sauce were extremely salty as well, and our steaks were accompanied by a stale pudding bread and bland potato with a sprig of rosemary on our cold plate. Another person ordered the barramundi and it was not fresh – with reduced miso that did not go well with fish anyway. The plate was accompanied by stir fried vegetables with the stalk not trimmed and just spread on the plate. The service was not the best as we had to request a few times to top up water. We asked for a straw for a glass of lemon lime bitters and the waitress just said “we don’t have straws” abruptly. It’ll be better if she had been more polite and we would understand the plastic waste. So basically, even though we were not charged the two entrée spicy sticky chicken, overall we did not have a great night out. My last time at Butcher’s Bench was in July 2018 that was not good and thought I’d give it another go after all, but sadly, disappointed again, and will not be at Butcher’s Bench again. As member of Accor Plus for more than 10 years, will not go to this place again unless something is done promptly. Ps: Another table of two behind us also had their meals returned to the kitchen, and another table of four also had problems with their meal.

The Caesar salad is good. Suggest to add some choices of pasta in the lunch and dinner menu.
