Even with a half-full restaurant, the service was slow and not attentive. The food was pub-average at best. The $59 seafood platter was bland, with only the grilled prawns flavoursome. The tuna tartare, burrata and goats cheese croquette were also tasteless. Za’atar pita bread was fine, as was the chicken main. The 'crisp roasted' pork belly was not crisp at all - the crackling was so chewy it just got stuck in between our teeth. The desserts look good but are nothing to write home about. All in all, disappointing food and service for such a great location.

food is westernised. prefer traditional middle Eastern food. some of the food is creative eg beetroot falafels. The hummus was not very tasty and pita bread wasn't soft.

Its an awesome place with great food, over looking the harbour. Surely go back. The service was good and quick, which is always welcome. Loved everything

I can see a lot of potential in this restaurant, however the restaurant atmosphere was extremely dark and did not have a Mediterranean vibe at all. Service was lovely, however the crab meat linguine I ordered was super dry. Would definitely not order that again.

Be aware water costs $5 per person. Don't bother ordering ice cream/gelato. Portion is very small, and it wasn't very good. Food was good.

Took staff a few mins to locate our booking, to begin with. Bland food, far from fine dining. Average taste, not a place to visit twice. Limited options on menu

Great food with a lovely water view of darling Harbour. Staff were friendly and ambience lively. Fork discount was a bonus. Would recommend for groups or parties.

The food came out quickly but the quality was terrible. Dad's pork belly was super fatty and the skin wasn't crispy. The seafood platter was extremely disappointing, the calamari rings were tiny and flavourless, grilled octopus was cold and tasted terrible. Halloumi was extremely salty. The most delicious thing were the oysters as they were served raw.

This restaurant was a great find! The staff were really friendly and welcoming. We love the atmosphere and the interior of the restaurant. The food came out quickly and not just that, the taste was delicious! The staff recommended the goat cheese croquette and that was amazing! We ordered the water crab linguine and the grilled king fish. Just a little comment about the food platting, that can be improved. Overall, we were happy with the service and the whole experience we had. Will definitely come back again for other dishes. :)

The staff were all really friendly and welcoming. We had lunch there with our 2 year old and it wasn’t an issue at all to provide a high chair. The food was good, but the beetroot falafel were a bit dry, and most of the dishes could have benefited from more sauce.

We love the ambience at Cafe del Mar! Both inside and outside. This is our 6th visit there. The food is lip smacking delicious and contemporary. One of the waiters- I think he might have been new- dropped a whole plate of left over food he was collecting on the table behind us and quite a bit of it fell on two of our guests who were visiting Australia. While he apologised once there was no effort to check if the guests were OK. The food badly stained their clothes. I would have expected others running the restaurant to come over and help this waiter who seemed a little out of his depth and apologise to our guests to check that they are OK. That was quite disappointing as these are overseas visitors. Apart from that the food, cocktails, music and all an enjoyable experience.

The food was great, and the view and atmosphere were amazing! We ordered lamb, pork belly and grilled prawns and they were delicious and cooked perfectly ! However, the service last night was a bit off, I had to ask multiple times for our wine and it wasn’t very busy at all. Thanks I’ll be back!

The venue was very stylish and exotic looking, great views of Darling Harbour if you can nab a window seat. The tapas menu was extensive and very nice. Wait staff lovely.
