Had the 3 course fixed price menu. Great food and good service, but a bit noisy upstairs on very busy night. Took advantage of the $10 BYO option on a Tuesday.
Food excellent service really good . This restaurant never disappoints . Highly recommend this establishment. Wine list is fairly extensive with Australian and international wines -
Consistently good quality food and matching service. Also there are additional specials complementing the menu. If anything the menu could change a bit more frequently. Leave enough space for deserts its worth it
Nice food and nice service. Place was crowded.
A fantastic menu, and a full vegetarian menu! I am a vego and the food was second to none. Their deserts need an award. Friendly, wonderful pace. 100% great night.
Every dish was excellent, perfectly done with extraordinary skill. One of the best restaurant experiences we have ever experienced. The wine list is extensive with many reasonably priced superb wines. This was our first time at Cafe Lyon and we will certainly go again. The staff were courteous, informative and gave the optimum level of attention,
Nice little restaurant, easy street parking outside, food was good and well presented. Service was not as attentive as mentioned in other reviews. Overall we enjoyed the meal. Would go again in future.
I hadn't dined at Cafe Lyon for about 3 years but on this occasion I entertained a friend who has lived for many years in Paris. My guest was delighted with the ambience and the menu. I al.won't wait another 3 years before I have another meal there.
Awesome bistro: Food, service and value for money. Recommend duck and souffle. Yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum.
Not too busy today which was a nice change. I had Sirloin, Pommes Gaufrettes, Café de Paris & Watercress Salad, meat cooked to perfection medium rare, we shared the spring greens. We both enjoyed the Mango Soufflé & Passionfruit Ice Cream; Cafe Lyon have the absolute finest souffles and today was no disappointment. We will be back again soon.
Very enjoyable. Delicious food and wine, well presented. Tasteful interior decor. Helpful and pleasant staff. We look forward going here again.
A lovely dining experience which captures the essence of France. Recommend the Pâté as a shared entree. The duck, the beautifully cooked salmon and the soufflé for desert - these are all great dishes. Definitely also have the cauliflower gratin as a side. This is a real neighbourhood gem and it is always filled with eager diners.
Had dinner with my husband here once before. This time, a family dinner with our two teenage boys! Well presented good food! We love this place! Will come back, before Christmas for sure!
We celebrated a birthday at Cafe Lyon and it was the perfect choice for a special occasion. The food was creative and delicious, the pre-dinner Martini and Souffle dessert were out of this world and the service was excellent. We will go there again.
Friendly and warm service, the male waiter is super patient. The food is good, especially the entrées , really delicious, would like to go back again .
I have several favourites at this restaurant - stuffed zucchini flowers, duck confit, soufflé among them. They have a good wine list. The menu does not change much over time but it is always delectable.
Cafe Lyon is a slice of France right on Sydney's north shore. Very authentic French food, great cosy atmosphere and excellent service. Highly recommended.
Our waiter John was fabulous. We had a great table (downstairs as requested). Food presentation was beautiful. Food taste - absolutely marvellous!
We have dined here many times over the years and love that the food and service is consistently fab. The French Martini is a must! Zucchini flowers are always incredible and the desserts are equally delicious.

Bistronomy movement in Lindfield...
The French city of Lyon is regarded as the capital of gastronomy, and with a name like “Cafe Lyon’ you’d better hope the food is up to scratch. Luckily for this quaint little French bistro on a North Shore highway has chef Rainer Korobacz and his talent to live up to the name. But just like the ‘bistronomy’ movement thats occurring in France, Cafe Lyon has followed suit, offering sophisticated food in a humble setting and with a set-price dinner menu that’s smarter than your average bistro fare. This neighbourhood gem in Lindfield is a bustling, tightly packed little place where mature male waiters chug along with a touch of French swagger and savoir-faire. Rainer emerges regularly from the kitchen, delivering plates to the table. It's a comfy and comforting local. Just as you’d hope 9and, well, expect) baguette slices and plenty of butter land on the paper-on-cloth tables soon after you arrive and there’s a great, concise list that champions Australia, while still giving the French a go too. The menu is straightforward: four options for each course, rooted in the French tradition and occasionally given a contemporary lift, but with the menu changing weekly, you’ll never be bored with Lyon’s tasty fare. Cafe Lyon is best of both worlds: Australian sunshine built upon layers of French culinary tradition.
Best dish: can we say bread and wine?
