Service was great, people were nice hence the 5 stars for service but 3/5 for the atmosphere because there was a stench (i'm not quite sure what smell it was) around where we were seated. Food wise, the arancini balls were good, margherita pizza was okay but the seafood marinara was so fishy we couldn't eat, but the waiter was kind enough to cancel that order. One feedback if I may......this is not a complaint, it's just a feedback I've been wanting to provide to a lot of restaurants. I understand that the waitress change our cutlery and plates after entree so we could have clean and fresh plates for our mains. But our napkins were fine and clean, I don't see a point of providing extra/new ones as well. The napkins were thick and most people would barely even use much of it throughout their whole course there. I didn't even mind reusing the cutlery and plates to be honest to reduce water consumption and waste. Just a thought if all restaurants can do a little bit, it will help reduce a lot of waste. Maybe ask the customers if they want everything changed before doing it next time? You might be surprised some people would say it's fine. Thank you.

The drinks we wanted to order were not available and we didn’t ask for anything fancy. None of the beers on tab, no Shiraz, no apple cider. We got charged a cider which we didn’t have. The Food was okay but the overall experience not that good

Arrived early and had a drink on the roof bar up a few flights of stairs. Happy hour and a lovely space on a lovely evening. Staff were friendly and the food was great. Enjoyed our evening, will be back.

Campari house has seen much better days. The décor is very tired and badly needs a refit. The staff are friendly but otherwise average and the food quality poor. The spice dusted calamari was limp and tasteless. I use to really like the place although I have not eaten there for many years as I'm at the other end of town. Sad how it has declined.

Thoroughly enjoyed Campari House. A good range of wines available and a compact, but diverse menu

Went for a drink upstairs first, expensive and service pretty average, Barman quite arrogant! However staff in restaurant very friendly . Food was delicious, the antipasto board was amazing and the pasta also very good, large servings. The restaurant could do with a coat of paint and a little money spent on the interior to match the high quality food. I would definitely go back!

The food, the service and the atmosphere were all excellent. We received the 50% off food deal and were delighted this did not compromise the food we received. Thank you for a most enjoyable dinner.

We had the calamari as our entree.A bit disappointing because the calamari was not crunchy, sliced thinly and they're stuck together. My daughter enjoyed her roasted chicken tortellini. I had the linguini marinara. It was average. Prosciutto pizza was good. We had the Marzipan and cherry and Cassata for dessert. What they served us didn't look the same as in their visual menu for dessert.

Campari house has amazing reviews, but Our experience was awful. Ambiance was poor, there was so much white paper and dirt on the floors. The glasses and plates provided was dirty, my plate had grime on it which i wiped with my napkin and it was coming out black. Had to ask to change it! Horrible. They could not get a simple lemon lime bitters to taste as it should, then we opted to get a coke instead. Food was very average, we ordered seafood pasta the seafood was cooked well but the pasta was half cooked half not, and the sauce tasted like a jar pasta sauce cooked in white wine. It was a weird taste. We also ordered green beans on the side, under salted and undercooked. At the time of paying the bill, they forgot to discount the 50% of the food bill, so we had to send it back. They also charged $12 for Green beans when it was $10 on the menu. Even after asking they did not change it. Overall experience was underwhelming compared to all the great reviews. Won’t be back!

About the restaurant

Levels of fun

This multi-storied bar and restaurant, located down Melbourne’s iconic Hardware Lane, captures what dining out is all about - a fun experience that should be shared with friends and family. Head to the lofty roof-top bar for a few cheeky bevs where you’ll find funky artwork, wine barrel stands and umbrellas for a spot of shade. Or check out the lounge on the second floor before settling in for a bite to eat in the ground floor restaurant. In the restaurant you’ll find an all day Italian-inspired menu that can be enjoyed at breakfast, lunch or dinner. Opt to share with friends - there are plenty of small plates such as taleggio and leek arancini or local calamari - or hoard a bigger plate all to yourself. For an after-work drink, a group dinner or a romantic date, Campari House in Melbourne’s CBD provides four levels of fun to choose from. Where will you start?
