Right at home in Leichhardt Nicknamed as ‘Little Italy’, Leichhardt is bursting with Italian osterias, making Capriccio right at home. Capriccio has embraced the spirit of an old style osteria in a modern space with a modern approach to Italian classics. At its core Capriccio is authentic Italian flavours, with a fun, modern twist. The menu is small but well thought out, with dishes that are true to the season, all designed to share. Michele Rispoli, a third generation restaurateurs brings to Leichhardt casual, modern Italian food at its best, courtesy of their vision and the skills of head chef Nicole Bampton (ex Lucios, Tetsuyas). The restaurant sits inside a newly renovated space that's bright and welcoming. Sit in the bar area with high tables and comfortable stools, in the sunny garden courtyard, which can also be used in winter thanks to the retractable canvas roof, out on Norton street or upstairs in the dining room that can cater for groups of all sizes. The crockery used here adds a further Italian touch, with colourful ceramics imported exclusively for Capriccio from Vietri sul Mare, the home of ceramics on the Amalfi coast.
