The table we had been allocated was up the end where a gardener was working right outside the windows with his hedge trimmer etc and lots of noise when the other half of the hotel restaurant was very quiet. The two in our group who had vegetables with their meal said they were cold and hard, not cooked properly. Dessert was good. My cup had a chip out of it which should never happen. Need more care before serving especially when it was a quiet day without many customers. Staff were very friendly and prices were good.
Reasonable pub grub in generous serves but with also some delectable offerings on the specials menu - roomy (family) friendly dining space - decent selection of beers on tap
Not the first time here and won’t be the last. This is a great old pub with a great atmosphere. Lots of little spaces including a nice al fresco out the front. Great variety of drinks and food is very reasonably priced. I had the Tuesday special steak and ribs. Ribs were great but the steak was not fantastic. My husband’s burger was tops!
Love the salmon
Nice big portions had to take leftovers home. Nice friendly staff. Tables were decorated for Valentine's was lovely. Great pub food and nice if you were staying in the hotel too.
Food was ok. Service acceptable for the volume of people there
Pretty average pub grub but good for a quick bite. Love the beer garden on a balmy evening.
We went here to relive some nostalgia but unfortunately were a bit disappointed. Mixed service from the staff and the place is a bit run down - even for a local pub. Food was fine but expensive for what it is.
Food was ok, no help from staff though so won’t be back, needs to be better organised.
The restaurant is located next to the bar area and tonight (Saturday) it was very busy with football and a birthday party. However the food servings were very generous and for Australians with a senior's card they have a section of the main courses for $15 . I had a table by the wood fire and while the place was humming with activity the fire was kept stoked and the service was ongoing. Pub food with good selection of dishes and of a good quality.
Food was excellent, service good, but it was far too busy on a Wednesday night for dinner for my liking. Will try a different night next time
Excellent grilled fish and chips with great fresh salad and tartare sauce. Rump steak very good too and the chocolate mud cake was superb with coffee. The only negative was that the food service was rather slow given that the place was not that busy. It was noticeable that another table had to wait quite a while for their food to be served as well.
Generous hearty main dish servings - entrees much more modest in comparison - good for casual neighbourhood meal with family and friends
Atmosphere was grand. Prices are fair. Service was quick. Everything was amazing. Will be back soon with the rest of my family.
First time there. Fantastic daily deals - we had the Wednesday special of Parmi & Pint for just $15! Came with salad and chips. Good solid pub fare...can't ask for much more than that!
We had nice meals and the Camembert starter was particularly good.
From a seniors point of view there was plenty of free parking, the food was great, there was plenty of room and it was clean and tidy. The staff were attentive and friendly.
Unfortunately my food was disappointing, the chips were undercooked and the steak was slightly overcooked.
The staff were great and the venue is a classic pub..but unfortunately the food was average bordering on bad. Cold nachos for the vegan (apparently if you don’t need to melt cheese on it you don’t need to heat it) and the roast was overcooked you the point of being jerky. Would love the see the venue crank but alas a reason for only a few people bothering for lunch on a nice Sunday arvo.
Food was very average, we had 12 people and we all ordered within minutes of each other on the same number but it came out in dribs and drabs so that the first person had long finished before the last 3 people got their meals. My and a friend's salad seemed to be the ingredients of a coleslaw without the sauce and everyone else had a green salad on similar dishes. Very noisy room so it was hard to hear the conversations on the table apart from the person next to you.
