Marcello Mariani

Marcello Mariani, a northern Italian chef, trained in Treviso & Venice. He worked in London at Harry’s Bar & then at the Harkin Hotel, the first Italian Michelin Star in London. He also did a stint in America. He arrived in Melbourne in 2012 & worked in the CBD, specializing in traditional Italian flavours, but also using unique Australian products. Mariani has been head chef at Caterina’s Cucina e Bar since 2016. He was awarded the first ever chef’s hat for a lunch time only restaurant in 2018.

The total experience...food and wine excellent but an extra star for stunning service. Caterina is always on the floor directing the team like a brilliant conductor...and it shows.
