Chef Arthur Tsui is originally from Hong Kong, and has worked with the Chairman Group for over 8 years. He continues to work closely with Executive Chef William Suen, who headed the Chairman & Yip kitchen team for over 25 years. Arthur also travels to Hong Kong regularly to work with Chef Kwok Keung Tung of sister restaurant The Chairman Hong Kong (#11 Asia's 50 Best 2019) to develop new techniques and dishes, which he brings back and adapts to local Australian ingredients.

We decided on the Tasting menu with matching wines. Our waiter John not only explained everything with genuine enthusiasm but included interesting facts about source and preparation. The food was exceptional, timing for service perfect, wines beautifully matched to create one of the best degustations we have experienced. Service was beyond excellent but simple, genuine and enjoyed by us and it appeared, the staff. Outstanding!!

We all thoroughly enjoyed celebrating my birthday here. Delicious food from the tasting menu; good wines; great service. We highly recommend this restaurant and will certainly be back.

Chairman & Yip deserves its reputation as a Canberra institution and, at present, it seems better than ever. Great example of modern Asian cuisine with Australian produced used well.

Great Chinese food in a lovely formal setting with great service and wine list to match. We went with a banquet and every course was great. This was our second visit and it didn't disappoint.

My second visit at the restaurant, thinking it would be different. Staff were great as always. But food still is average and unusual serving of uncooked veggie leaves with a bunch of stalks. Maybe have a taste review and suggest set meals that compliment each other. Not sure if I would go for a third visit.

Sometimes its the food you remember or maybe its the service but with this place its both plus more! The service was friendly, engaging and helpful while the food was clearly prepared with precision and great taste. And it was all accompanied with some great wines. We had a great night and will definitively be returning.
