I like Chao Ba's menu as it offers many dishes which are not commonly seen elsewhere. However the Hun Bo Hue doesnt seem as good as it used to be. Generally speaking the portion is getting lesser since my last visit.

It was a busy evening with opening of Vivid Sydney. We ordered 3 mains for 2 adults and a primary school child. I have been to Chao Ba half a dozen times till now, food quality is still good but I found the portion very small, the same dish is probably 30% higher than other Vietnamese eatery but the portion size is about 25% less so value for money is not good. Not sure whether it is my delusion but I found it progressively smaller.

Love the entrees. The mains were delicious too..I was very impressed the first time so I returned. If you are unsure what to pick, choose the banquet.

About Chao Ba - Chatswood

Steamy noodle heaven If classic Vietnamese cuisine is enough to excite you alone, clear your schedule and tell your friends that Chao Ba is next on the list. The welcoming vibes and steamy bowls of noodles created from family recipes will want you coming back for more. Whether you’re gossiping with friends on the casual outdoor verandah or having an early dinner with the fam, you’ll certainly feel right at home. Find a cosy spot on the couch and warm up with a big bowl of Pho noodle soup or have cocktails and nibbles outside where you can spot the Vietnamese basil and mint growing in the little Asian herb garden. Slurp down some Banh bot (clear shrimp dumplings) and share the delicious lemongrass beef rice paper rolls. With so many yummy dishes on the menu you’ll want to make sure you come with a crew to try everything! Best dish: Banh beo hue imperial (little steamed rice flour cakes topped with dried shrimp, pork crackling and mungbean and chives)
