Polenta + black garlic arancini, chickpea, spinach, fire roasted capsicum + lemon myrtle sauce
Lemon myrtle red curry, confit shallots, roasted kipflers + coconut soft herb salad
Potato + pepperberry beignet, crispy saltbush, blistered cherry tomatoes, kunzea + red wine reduction
wish I could be more positive. perhaps I ordered poorly (I hope that is all it was) but my polenta dish looked unappetising and tasted pretty damn awful
A gastronomical experience. All the details are well attended to and the quality impeccable. Couldn't ask for better presentation, service, atmosphere or food--with a message and for a cause.
The food was good, above average for sure, a few glitches but overall a nice experience
This the the second time dinning at charcoal lane and it didn’t disappoint.. the food is fabulous and I love the use of native ingredients, so different and a real treat. Keep up the amazing work you all do. Thank you
It was a great night! Excellent food and excellent service - we'll definitely be back!
Always a consistently great experience
A friend suggested we try your establishment and we couldn't have been happier. Outstanding and original food and top notch service. Thank you.
Our first visit and we thought the food was beautiful. It was nice to experience a chef using native Australian ingredients. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The walls of the restaurant displayed some wonderful indigenous art work with some for sale. We would be happy to return.
Great food with authentic Australian flavours. Charcoal Lane is just on the city fringe but easy to get to by tram. The bread is baked daily and fresh, together with the dipping condiment was my favourite. Service was prompt and friendly.
Great concept where you are served authentic and interesting Australian food. The food had been cooked perfectly, especially the bread that changed daily - fantastic use of a variety of Australian herbs and spices.
It was wonderful in every sense. Thank you.
Interesting, delicious dishes, beautifully presented.
It is great what the restaurant does and I encourage them to keep doing what they do best. Congratulations.
Thank you! Great food, really interesting flavors!
Thanks for having us! Quite expensive for what we got but the service was lovely.
Warm, friendly relaxing atmosphere and very good service . We will be back !
Imaginative menu of indigenous and Australian native ingredients carefully prepared into excellent dishes. Good service, noisy atmosphere, mediocre coffee but, in sum, a great experience
Delicious, yum, will be back.
We were really impressed with the whole set up food/drinks/ service. We especially found the explanation about the trainees by the management very helpful and if there was a tiny hiccup it didn’t matter because we knew they were learning. We’re definitely coming back! Good work.
