The food is yummy. However we got ordered wrong twice. But they both were fixed with the right ones. Recommend to order through the app on the table with instruction. We had lunch and it was a very busy time which could be difficult to hear conversations. Overall it was good. We love fish cakes! They are so authentic!
Yummy dishes, convenient location and good price
It was very hard to get the wait staff's attention
Food cooked with love. Always enjoyable and never disappoints. Made a booking requesting for a nice seat with views and got it. A great place to have a beautiful Thai meal
Good location easy to get there. And good food quality and serve fast. Very busy but nice atmosphere. The staff are welcoming and nice. Will go back
Usually reliably delicious. The pad thai was disappointing today - noodles were all broken and few noodles. compared to their normal quantity
It was really good except for the fact that the eggplant salad was off the menu - and it was the second time in a row ! A tad disappointing but fast service & yummy dishes.
Restaurant is packed at lunch time, so fairly noisy. We sat near the window seats. Food ordering was easy via the app (get $5 off). Convenient location (across the road from Circular Quay station).
Very disappointing. Booked a table weeks in advance and it was not available. Had to wait 20 minutes. Wine we wanted was not available, some entrees not available. The bill was wrong. Very disappointing.
Surprisingly good thai restaurant with an extensive menu. The flavours were extremely vibrant and fresh. There was a new ordering app that also allowed the bill to be split.
The food was great, presentation, serving amount. But the noodles they use is from instant noodles which is normal thick one on a Pad Thai. And also i think I just 1/4 of the coconut juice bcos majority is ice. In terms or service, they review each order to avoid confusion. And i like the staff from the counter. So nice! All in all so good! ขอขอบคุณ
Food is always tasty but I wish they offered more vegetables in their dishes or the option to add veggies to curry etc. Service is fine. It’s nice to sit in the main restaurant and have a bit of buzzy atmosphere and location is very convenient.
Food was fresh and tasty, arrived promptly, great for a quick lunch
good place to go before going to concert in opera house
Cuisine is fantastic as always. Wait staff were generally warm & friendly, but there was particular staff who never smiled at all & one bad mood emanating from this one person can wreck one’s dining experience. All the rest were great. I’d still recommend this place as a go to for cheap yummy eats before the theatre.
Yummy food. Order takers should be open to customers selecting their orders by quoting the item number because not everyone can speak / pronounce the Thai dishes properly. We kept on saying number 5 (crab spring rolls), & the order taker kept saying wings. We keep repeating, no, it’s number 5. When she realized what we meant & pointed it out on the menu, she even became angry & told us, “you should have said crab spring rolls”. She was the only staff member who wasn’t quite friendly. All the rest were warm, friendly, & accommodating.

Chat Thai was created almost 25 years ago to serve as a meeting place for diners to socialise and chat about Thai cuisine (and food in general), thus 'chat' Thai.
