Service was attentive, and staff were knowledgeable. Excellent quality food, great portion sizes and delicious cocktails. Would highly recommend!
The service was a little too relaxed for someone that was ready to eat his own arm! BUT, the food was VERY much worth waiting for. We had the set menu and it was all magnificent. Certainly a place I'm going back to
Beautiful food and beautiful ambience, such a gem!
Delicious food-loved the miso eggplant, chicken karage, pork katsu buns and tuna tartare
Great service and amazing food, the girl serving us was lovely and very courteous. Beautiful ambience. Food is amazing specially the crab fried rice which is our favourite dish. Lovely range of cocktails. Overall it was an amazing evening
The most wonderful team, food and atmosphere every time. If you haven’t been, you must, one of Sydney’s very best! Kisses Cho Cho Fam see you next feasting! x
Cho cho san never fails to make my day! Been here so many times and the Food is still absolutely beautiful and staff are very friendly. Love this place. Wishing the green tea tiramisu will return! Highly recommend!
Food service felt a bit rushed. Finished 75% of feast menu 45 minutes into dining time.
Fun, great vibe and delicious food....no waiting for service - everyone was helpful and knowledgeable about the dishes! Great dinner!
Great quality food. Love the decor. Second time back after about 5 years. Wanted more in terms of flavour - was not 'wow' enough. We ordered the pork buns, kingfish sashimi, okonomoyaki, prawns charcoal chicken, fried brown rice and black sesame mochi. Okonomoyaki was more like a thick pancake with no noodles. We enjoyed the black sesame mochi and fried brown rice most (although a tad salty)
This was one of the most hype restaurant that I've wanted to visit since a while now. We were very pleased and impressed with the standard and quality of food. However service was substandard. First of all we made a booking but got our table late which was understandable due to the busyness of this place. Upon sitting down noone came to us for a good 15/20 mins. No one even asked if we wanted any drinks or water to begin with. We had to try to get their attention multiple times before they noticed us. The male staff looking after our table was rude when we got his attention. He looked unpleased and unfriendly when he took our order. We tried to remain polite the whole time however I dont think anyone deserve this kind of table service anywhere. It's very unfortunate as it affects how I feel about this restaurant now despite of the delicious food. Hope that chocho san will train their staff in such of the "real japanese standard".
Love this place
Second time here and probably even better than the first time I came here. All the food was amazing, great recommendations - definitely listen to the waiters. Food came out fast and the food choices were varied to accommodate all six of us. Warning though, parking is hard to find around there so get there at least 5-10mins early to look for parking.
great service, great food with reasonable price tag. This place was very crowded and therefore only shortcoming was that the dining table was a bit narrow and too close to other diners.
The location is easy to find! All dishes we ordered were amazing, tasty and never disappointed! Staff are quite nice and friendly! I really love this kind of fusion cuisine, and it’s better than normal Japanese restaurant I think! The atmosphere and decorations here are simple but stylish! So highly recommend!
Always great food. Staff are always busy but still give good service and are attentive. Nice & relaxed atmosphere not stuffy. Food comes at a good pace. Highly recommended!
Great to be back in Sydney and be able to visit again. I employ people in a service capacity and EVERYONE was excellent. If I had to single someone out the lady controlling the bookings at the front of house was amazing. Some people were getting uneccesarily frustrated but she dealt with it excellently! Big smile! Consistantly top class food and service what more would do you want?
We had an awesome evening in a bustling restaurant. Our waiter was professional and helpful and we loved the food. Thanks for a fantastic night out with friends
Cute little restaurant with a good vibe. Hostess could have been more welcoming. Noisy but that gives it atmosphere - not a place for a romantic relaxed meal. Food was excellent and high quality but it did come out very fast so didn’t have time to chill between courses and enjoy the wine. Overall very good.
We aren’t local but still come here at least twice a month. The food, team, atmosphere and venue are all wonderful. Fish collars, miso eggplant sticks for the win!

A cracker night at Cho Cho San…
What do you get when you mix a young gun chef, a seasoned restaurateur, a hot Sydney architect and a prime piece of real estate? Cho Cho San of course. A mod Japanese Izakaya that pays respect to Japanese cuisine while simultaneously taking it to the street as small-dish, cocktail-friendly bar food. Perch up on the stool-lined concrete bar for a steamed bun (of course) filled with rolled, smoked duck, hoisin and pickled cucumber or a seriously sensational sliced petuna ocean trout (from the raw bar), dressed with a mix of soy, mirin, black pepper and wasabi. To be frank, no choice is a bad one, so go with your gut and just enjoy the intelligent, easy and delicious food from a cracker team. It’s magic.
