Chickpea crepe with wild Australian mushrooms, gruyere and watercress
Pan fried snapper fillets with jerusalem artichoke puree, veal jus and crispy parmesan asparagus
Free-range chicken Maryland, stuffed with mushroom duxelle and veal farce, served with Champagne and asparagus risotto and creamy morels sauce
Food was beyond amazing. Service, a bit lack-luster but all and all, not bad. Took a bit longer than expected for things like drinks to arrive, likely due to the party they had upstairs maybe? Could have probably used a few more service staff but it wouldn’t stop me from going to enjoy again
Lovely place. The wait staff were great and the food delicious. Some people in my party were quite loud, thank goodness we were upstairs. Thanks very much for accommodating my birthday booking.
Excellent as usual. Consistent quality. Seating was a bit tight. Efficient. ........................................................
Good friendly attentive service. Delicious dishes.
The steak tartare had far2much mustard-that u couldnt taste capers, nor dill pickles, nor balsamic, nor onion, nor even all the steak in it could be tasted=major missjudged!!!! The tiniest piece of brie/camembert in such a large duck pinot noir pie, was ridiculous=sounded covered top of duck in menu discription&menu said puff pastry on pie-but wasnt flaky nor puffed@all-like shortcrust.... The mushroom mousse was light&divine&something different2try!!! The escargot were in huge shells, but appeared over-cooked, coz so small&rubbery........ Serving sizes were small-but definately prepared in traditional french ways, in french flavours!!!!
Beautiful venue and very decadent food- if a little rich! :)
The duck pie was delicious and the salmon dish well done. Loved the cocktails. Service was a little bit of a miss with multiple people asking if we have ordered drinks.
Really great food and lovely service. Also had a great cocktail special! Unfortunately I booked not realising there was a drag show on for a function upstairs so it was very loud and quite a weird experience - could hear the show very loudly but not see it. Something I wish I checked when booking as did detract from the ambiance.
This is the second time I dined at Claire's Kitechen. Food was good but the atmosphere on that day (15/2/2020 evening) was utterly disturbing! In the middle of our romantic meal all in the sudden the speaker made loud and disturbing noise, where it was a private event held on the first floor with someone's birthday with silly and noisy performance features "Marilyn Monroe's hapoy birthday song to Mr president". It was so loud until my heart was beating irregularly as we sat below the speaker. Why the private event was broadcasted through the whole restaurant with such a disturbing mode? It was so disturbing and really destroyed he nice mode and the nice food from the chef! I really like a reply from Chaire's Kitechen please!
Every thing was perfect except the food took way too long to come. It was very hard to communicate with the waitress as they couldn’t speak much English
Marc and Valentin always give a warm welcome. The atmosphere is wonderful, from decoration to noise levels. Service is friendly and knowledgeable, and the food is divine. It’s rich, as you’d expect, so be hungry! My friend who loves cheese said it was the best cheese platter he’s had in ages. The meat was cooked beautifully. The lamb cigar perfectly fragranced. Never disappointed with Claire’s. Been a customer for 8 years and hope to be for the next 8!
Loved the food and ambience of this place! We got the chickpea crepe and the chicken. Both were amazing! They are very generous with their fries at the side too. Only suggestion I would have is possibly not sitting in at the table located in front of the bar. Even though it looked cosy and fancy we felt as though the waiters kept missing us often which resulted in a longer wait as usual when we wanted to for example get the bill, or get a refill of water etc.
Our third visit and tonight a little tired in all aspects. Food was adequate but nothing a standout tonight. Everyone seemed to be going through the routine without much energy or passion.
Food and service was great, the duck pie is a must try! Dessert however was quite mediocre, would probably skip it next time
Great service! Great food!
Amazing venue with exceptional service and food.
Wonderful French restaurant celebrating their 8 years on location. We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and all 3 wait staff made a point of wishing us the best. Food was excellent as always, We love this place and will always go back.
We loved it!!
Over exceeded our expectations with food and service.
Nice place atmosphere, nice staff and delicious french food. I definitely recommend, a neighbourhood gem. Personal favourite dish is the Chateaubriand, and of course all the desserts!

Claire’s Kitchen at Le Salon
A star of the kitchen as well as the stage, former TV chef Marc Kuzma (aka Claire de Lune) lets his talents shine at his Darlinghurst venture, Claire’s Kitchen at Le Salon. Step through the doors from Oxford Street, and enter a world of glamour, decadence and French chic. Soaring ceilings, imported wallpapers, glittering chandeliers, white linen, black Louis XV chairs and French antiques will make you feel like you’re world’s away from the chaos of the bustling street outside. Oh oui, nous aimons que….(we love that!). Charming French waiters warmly welcome patrons at Claire’ and the brasserie classics with contemporary touches are done with true French finesse. The double baked three cheese soufflé or blue eye trevalla fillet served with crab bisque and spinach dumpling should be ordered immediately upon arrival and you should seriously consider finishing with something sweet from the dessert trolley followed by a fine French wine or Claire de Lune cocktail in the mezzanine bar. It’s French chic at its best.
Best dish: double baked three cheese soufflé
