well I'm not really sure where to start. We looked at the menu online and saw it was a great menu so we decided to book at the restaurant. Half an hour before we arrived we received the phone call checking that we were still coming naturally we were. When we arrived there was no way to be seen but there was a table set for nine people so we went and sat at it. The waiter appeared from the kitchen with a very laissez faire attitude. And brought us a 1 page menu that bore no relevance to the menu online. We asked why we can't have the online menu and he said that was our old chef and then you one has changed the menu. Kind of went OK we can understand that it's easy also to take down the website menu. We then ordered some wine on the way to said oh we don't have that wine you better come and have a look what we've got. So I went and looked and the one that I wanted they literally had two glasses in the bottle for nine people. Apparently their wine order hadn't come in the day before. That was the last straw we got up and left.

The food was great, the timing wasn't. I had to ask where our entrees was up to only to have it come out 2 min before the mains.

We booked through The fork the day before but when we arrived they did not have our booking. The man on hotel reception said this was not a problem and we went in. We were seated and orders taken quite quickly. Our drinks came quickly but we soon found ourselves the only ones left in the restaurant with no waitress in sight. After half an hour we were getting a little concerned and after 40 minutes we went out to reception to check. The waitress was now on reception and just said “Oh they are probably ready by now, I got held up out here” She appeared with the meals which by this stage were only lukewarm. They had clearly been ready at least 15- 20mins before. She did not apologise at all at any stage which we found was very disappointing. The meals were of a good standard and would have been very nice had the been delivered on time.

More of a motel dinning room , very basic furniture and no views. They had issues with the oven so the special main meal ( venison) was not available. Food quality was good but not much ambiance.

Very disappointing, staff weren't particularly friendly, we waited an hour and a quarter for our main meals which were average.. no apologies for the lengthy wait. Do not recommend.

Food was delicious. Service was a little slow (needed more staff). Will definitely go back. Venue is a little old looking. Lots of dishes to choose from.
