    Recent menu change is really good. We both had the fish of the day which was perfectly cooked matched with some great French fries and the wines by the glass are generally excellent and good value for the quality.

    Duck was a little dry and the restaurant offered free desserts for the group as compensation. All the other meals were delicious.

The once rundown Cricket Club Hotel has been beautifully transformed into a stylish boutique hotel complete with fifteen rooms, a stylish bar, intimate bistro and a stunning rooftop deck overlooking Albert Park Lake and the city. It’s a place for locals as well as hotel guests, so don’t be deterred by the word ‘hotel’. Owners George Bagios and his dad Con want people to come, eat and enjoy all that they have to offer - and stay the night if they so desire. The bar has eighteen beer taps featuring some of the best craft beers from Australia, a thoughtful wine list and there’s food options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. At Coppersmith they are all about the simple things done well. Dine at the bar or in the intimate bistro fitted out with parquetry floors, pale wood-clad walls, sleek pendant lights, sparkling white tables, dark leather banquettes and black bentwood chairs. The menu tips its hat to traditional pub food, prepared with quality fresh produce, sourced locally wherever possible. This is a killer spot to eat, play and stay.
