Another glorious night at the cork and clever. Superb, food good service and enjoyed with great mates. It’s a little dated but then again so are we! Truly amazing wine list and they even found one of my favourite reds not on the list. A winner!

Food was superb and chef went to a lot of trouble to cater for gluten and dairy free.

The staff were very accomodating and friendly. Every portion of our meal was delicious including the wine, of which the selection was impressive. This was amongst the best meals we have ever experienced. We will definitely be back!

Food was for the most part good, However night was dampened when staff handed my partner what everyone thought was a birthday dessert, sung her happy birthday and then handed it to another member of the group. We all thought they had done a beautiful thing by giving a dessert at a birthday cake but actually had brought out her sisters dessert with a sparkler in it and then taken it off her! Soured the whole experience

This small restaurant is tucked away nicely, the food is great, the small details like the crusty bread and entree of meatballs always starts the night off nicely. The staff are very efficient and welcoming, it just a nice quiet restaurant with great food and cooked to perfection. Even the finish of the night with after dinner mints supplied adds a lovely touch to a pleasurable evening.

our 50th wedding anniversary dinner was a great family event on 2/1/2021. The food and drinks were excellent and the staff and hospitality second to none. our group of 12 ranged from eleven to 71 years young, we all enjoyed the cocktails, wine and especially the quality food and the excellent old fashioned service by the wonderful staff. Full marks to the management!

Fantastic service, great size table for four, attentive and friendly staff, nothing too much trouble! Drink service was great as was unexpected bread and meatballs on arrival. Orders taken promptly, specials advised and food arrived in good time. It was beautiful, a little overcooked for my liking but still delicious!

Haven’t been here for a number of years, but still the same fantastic service, great staff and exemplary food. This is the one restaurant that we go to on special occasions because of the 5 star service.

Exceptionally tasty food. My steak was cooked perfectly and I had to finish every last bit of the sauce. My wife enjoyed her Steak Tartar which was mixed at our table by Strato the owner. He has been in business for decades, he showed us personally to our table and came past several times to ensure our evening was memorable with wonderful stories and tidbits of his delightful establishment. Such a unique and personal restaurant it has stood the test of time due to the quality of service and food. Highly recommended for quality simple cuisine perfectly prepared and served. It’s our 5th visit and if you have never been do yourself a big favour and head there. It’s an iconic experience which many newer restaurants lack. Many establishments come and go out of fashion but good ones like the Cork and Cleaver stand the test of time and consistently provide a fantastic meal and experience, thanks to Strato and his team.
