Love this place. Can’t wait to dine there again in the meantime will be getting take away. Thanks to Tony and crew. Hope you guys are doing ok.
Very nice European style atmosphere, professional welcoming staff, fast service, very good quality of food, reasonable prices for the wine. Only minus is that the tables are really close to each other, so you won't have much privacy.
Have been there before a couple of years ago and wasn’t thrilled. Thought I’d give a new chance, given the encouragement of a 50% discount. Sadly was disappointed again. Decor and ambience is good. Even with reservation and on time, we had to wait for a table to be free. Couldn’t understand the description of the specials. Water was served in a glass 2/3 full, wasn’t topped up without asking. Pathetically small serving of bread with a tiny lick of olive oil. Not even enough salt to dunk either. So now wine: fantastic list. Congratulations for that. Mark up was 80- 100% for most - but that is not unusual really. Here comes the real disappointment: the food. We had two specials, the tagliatelle with pork and chestnut ragu and the risotto with fresh tomato and basil and not sure what else!! Both did not impress with flavour. Dull. There was a wad of uncooked tagliatelle and it was a little short of al dente and nearly cold. The risotto was also barely warm and thus too firm and rather than lift as a creamy rice, it broke off from the main portion. The rocket salad was good. The pannacotta was passable. Really need to step up. The Sicilian wine was fantastic, but then they didn’t make it.
Service was good to begin with & then as got busier wait staff were very slow to attend to table, no offer of more wine & water not topped up. Most dishes were great but 1 of guests was disappointed with spaghetti main course
Fabulous food and a wonderful French waiter who was so helpful. No problem with 50% Fork deal already on the bill. A perfect local Kew restaurant.
Wonderful neighbourhood gem with good food, wine and service! Its participation in the fork food festival also makes it affordable. Hope for more promotions like this but even then, has made us new regulars.
Pleasant enough bar but seating is cramped - one long wall seat accommodates about 6 people side by side. There is only room for a handbag to separate 2 clients at different tables. Quite noisy. Menu is limited but interesting enough. Our main pasta dish was disappointing and over priced. We were not offered grated cheese or cracked pepper and could not attract the waiter's attention. Interesting wine list - but I wish they had an oaked chardonnay available. The 50% discount on food made it an affordable night but I don't think I will return when it is back to full price.
Great food and good portion size but service could have been improved. Had to keep asking for water and the menu was not given to us until we asked for it.
Very crammed, food was a very poor quality. Five options for entree and five options for main. Three bite size portions for a main meal and not cooked properly. Very expensive even with 50% off.
Excellent thanks. Oysters were terrific. A favourite place.
Local gem. feel like home cook and cozy place. small place but great vibes and surround. will definitely come back. Hope to see more variety in food selection in future
Great little eatery, pleasant staff, delicious food, a great range of drinks and good vibe made this the perfect spot to catch up with friends for dinner..
Always lovely out in the courtyard. Food was tasty. Annoyed that a couple at the table next to us allowed their dog to get up on the bench seat and sniff out the next table... not nice!
Was a lovely night catching up with friends. Cru was a great place to have some shared food and wine. The service was great and they were baby friendly! Would definitely go to Cru again.
The food was pretty average. Expect serving sizes to be on the smaller side. Pricing was alright with 50% discount, but would have been a bit pricey for the size without.
Dessert was delicious!
We decided to go out for lunch, on impulse, on a rainy Tuesday. We booked a special deal through the Fork. The staff were welcoming and the food was great. Reminded us once again, why don't we go to Cru more often? we're looking forward to trying dinner once evening. There were no problems at all claiming our Fork special at the conclusion - everything was already deducted from the bill - a seamless process that worked wonderfully. Thank you!
The second time we've been to Cru. Enjoyed the share plates, and especially the delicious rum and raisin pudding! Looking forward to returning, thanks.
Keep the great work!
Cru is a great local haunt, innovative Italian food and magnificent wine list. Tony is a great host and staff are all very friendly. Everyone is made welcome
